In celebration of the nation’s 60th birthday, we share some illustrious Singaporean brands that have made us proud through international recognition and achievements

While Singapore is widely celebrated for its striking skyline, lush greenery and vibrant cuisine, the nation’s influence extends far beyond its iconic landmarks and flavours. For one, various Singaporean brands have made significant marks on the global stage, sharing pieces of Singapore with the rest of the world.

As Singapore celebrates its 60th birthday, it’s only fitting to spotlight Singaporean brands that continue to carve spaces on the international stage. From heritage food brands to tech companies, we share some homegrown names that have made it globally.

1. State Property

Synonymous with quiet, understated luxury and holistic wellness experiences globally, Como Hotels and Resorts is often mistaken for a European or international boutique chain due to its presence in destinations like Italy, the Maldives, and London. However, this premier global hospitality group is Singapore-based, founded by homegrown entrepreneur Christina Ong. Como’s portfolio of properties and its wellness focus have positioned Singapore at the forefront of sophisticated, conscious luxury travel worldwide.

3. Allies of Skin

A high-performance clinical skincare label, Allies of Skin has swiftly become a global powerhouse. This global luxury empire was founded right here in Singapore by Nicolas Travis. Starting with just one product in 2016, the brand rapidly built a cult following for its powerful, multi-tasking formulas. Its success is now measured by thousands-long waiting lists for its products, which are sold in over 36 countries, cementing its status as a leading Singaporean export in the high-end beauty industry.

4. Secretlab

Co-founded in December 2014 by Ian Ang and Alaric Choo, Secretlab has redefined the high-end office and gaming chair market. The chairs, codenamed Omega, Titan and Titan Evo, are designed to support users of different sizes and come in different upholstery options. Known for its ergonomic design and meticulous craftsmanship, the brand has rapidly achieved global recognition, with its premium chairs found in over 60 countries and in the offices of top tech and entertainment companies.

6. Banyan Group

Beyond massage chairs, the homegrown brand also offers a range of health and fitness products, including air purifiers and health monitors. Osim is currently available in over 400 stores across the world.

8. Old Chang Kee

This Singapore-owned menswear label has been loved for its classic yet elevated pieces. Founded by Nelson Yap in 2007, Benjamin Barker was born out of Yap’s efforts to revive his family’s struggling suit business. The brand has since expanded across Southeast Asia and Australia.
