From timeless classics to modern blockbusters, here are some of the best musicals and performances coming to the city

The live entertainment industry is thriving in Singapore, with a growing influx of internationally acclaimed musicals gracing its stages. Alongside local productions, 2025 has already marked a significant rise in world-class performances.

This year, some of the most highly anticipated musicals are set to take centre stage, including Wicked and The Phantom of the Opera. In an interview with Tatler Singapore, Base Entertainment Asia’s chief executive officer Chantal Prudhomme shares the remarkable resurgence of musical theatre attendance post-pandemic. “The experience you get being in a room together and experiencing something live, it’ll never go away,” she explains.

Prudhomme also highlights how social media has played a pivotal role in engaging new audiences. Younger generations are drawn to modern and innovative musicals, while mature audiences continue to seek out timeless classics. This dynamic mix of preferences has helped fuel the demand for international productions, ensuring a vibrant and diverse theatre scene in Singapore.

Each year, many of these international productions are presented at Sands Theatre. Chief customer officer at Marina Bay Sands Jeremy Bach shares: “Our roster of international musicals and shows resonates strongly with both local audiences and international visitors…The overwhelmingly positive reception from theatre-goers confirms the strong demand for such high-caliber theatre experiences.”

As Singapore continues to welcome more international musicals, 2025 promises to be an exciting year for theatre enthusiasts. With iconic performances set to grace its stages, here are some of the most highly anticipated performances you won’t want to miss this year.
