Due to popular demand, Cameron Mackintosh’s globally acclaimed ‘Miss Saigon’ will run in the Philippines until May 2024. Read on to know where and how to secure tickets for the show
The heat is truly on in Manila! Over the weekend, Filipinos patiently queued ticket outlets for Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Alan Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Miss Saigon. Initially set to close its curtains on April 21, the show will now extend until May 5.
In a statement released to the press, GMG Production CEO Carlos Candal revealed an influx of demand for tickets to the modern classic musical. “We have made the exciting decision to extend Miss Saigon’s run in Manila. The passion of the Manila audience is the driving force behind this, and we are thrilled to offer more people the chance to experience the production.”

Miss Saigon has music by Schönberg with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr and Boublil, adapted from original French lyrics by Boublil, with additional lyrics by Michael Mahler. The new production is directed by Laurence Connor, with musical staging by Bob Avian and additional choreography by Geoffrey Garratt.
The production design is by Totie Driver and Matt Kinley based on an original concept by Adrian Vaux; costume design by Andreane Neofitou; lighting design by Bruno Poet; projections by Luke Halls; sound design by Mick Potter; and orchestrations by William David Brohn. Music supervision is by Alfonso Casado Trigo and Guy Simpson.
The critically acclaimed production has just completed a successful run at the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne, and Adelaide.

Filipinos have a deep connection with Miss Saigon because it has been the stage where countless Filipino artists have had their moment to shine,” said Candal.
For his part, GWB Entertainment’s Torben Brookman assured Filipinos are in for an absolute treat. “[This is] the best production I’ve ever seen.”
