March is art month in Hong Kong, and this year, it truly lives up to the designation. The city is buzzing with a wide array of art events, with highlights including Art Basel and Art Central, plus exhibitions and literature festivals aplenty.
March also marks Women’s History Month, and here in the city, there are numerous events that celebrate female achievements, including inspiring panels and workshops. Music lovers are also in for a treat as major festivals and renowned artists come to town; ComplexCon features NJZ and Metro Boomin, while Blackpink’s Jisoo will stop by for a fan meet. And did we mention sports, with Hong Kong’s Rugby Sevens and the World Snooker Grand Prix also taking place?

Hong Kong International Literary Festival
When: March 1-8, 2025
Where: Several locations around Hong Kong
What: The highly anticipated Hong Kong International Literary Festival (HKILF) returns this year, uniting emerging and established writers with literature enthusiasts for a celebration of storytelling. The 2025 edition features 68 events, including fireside chats, literary lunches, workshops, and family-friendly activities. Highlights include marquee sessions with Alka Joshi, Asako Yuzuki and Aube Rey Lescure.
World Snooker Grand Prix 2025

Where: Kai Tak Sports Park, Kowloon, Hong Kong
What: Get ready for the World Snooker Grand Prix 2025, making its debut outside the United Kingdom in Hong Kong! The tournament will gather the top 32 snooker players as they compete for the championship and crucial world ranking points. Since its launch in 2015, the Grand Prix has become a major event in snooker. This year, 5,000 fans will fill the new Kai Tak Arena, ensuring an unforgettable atmosphere.

Gfriend’s 10th anniversary tour in Hong Kong

Where: Hall 11, AsiaWorld-Expo, Lantau, Hong Kong
What: After a four-year hiatus, K-pop girl group Gfriend is set to kick off their 10th-anniversary concert in Seoul this January, followed by an Asia tour that includes a stop in Hong Kong in March. The six-member group, celebrated for its youthful charm and impressive synchronised choreography, will release a new album titled Seasons of Memories on January 13. Expect brand-new tracks along with iconic hits like Rough (2016) and Time for the Moon Night (2018).
Bad Times Disco presents VeggieVille
When: March 15, 2025
Where: Secret location in Kowloon, Hong Kong
What: This March, Bad Times Disco (BTD) is coming back with Veggieville, a party which will be held in a secret location in Kowloon. BTD co-founder Ani Phoebe Hao will be behind the decks at the event. It will also feature Thai DJ Issasha, underground house music community Reach co-founder Andy S, Bad Times Disco resident DJ DMK and Hong Kong DJ Mr Ho. Expect a variety of genres, from sunny house and UK garage to techno and happycore.
Jisoo’s fan tour Lights, Love, Action! in Hong Kong and Macau
When: March 21-22 and March 28-29, 2025
Where: AsiaWorld Arena, Lantau, Hong Kong
What: Blackpink member Jisoo will kick off her highly anticipated fan tour Lights, Love, Action! this month with seven stops in Asia, including Macau on March 21 and 22 and Hong Kong on March 28 and 29. The announcement came following the release of the K-pop star’s mini album Amortage on February 14. It features four songs: Earthquake, which topped Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales Chart; Your Love; Tears and Hugs & Kisses.
ComplexCon Hong Kong
When: March 21-23, 2025
Where: AsiaWorld-Expo, Lantau, Hong Kong
What: ComplexCon will return to Hong Kong from March 21-23, 2025 at AsiaWorld-Expo. The festival will celebrate music, style, sneakers, art, food, and innovation, bringing together creative minds to showcase the latest trends and ideas. This year, the event will feature immersive experiences and performances from top artists including NJZ, Metro Boomin, Quavo, Zico, Jace and more.

What: The HKwalls Street Art Festival is back and is set to transform the heart of the city into stunning works of art throughout the Central and Western Districts. The festival will celebrate creativity and talent while offering workshops, guided tours, and artist talks that enrich the community experience.
Art Central
When: March 26-30, 2025
Where: Central Harbourfront, Hong Kong
What: Art Central, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, returns to Central Harbourfront from March 26 to 30. The art fair brings a line-up of 108 local and international galleries—the art fair’s largest line-up till date. Curated by Hong Kong-based curator Aaditya Sathish, who was previously the associate director of Square Street Gallery, the fair’s programme—in Sathish’s words—“addresses the current state of the world while simultaneously envisioning its potential transformations”.
Art Basel Hong Kong
When: March 28-30, 2025
Where: Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai, Hong Kong
What: Art Basel Hong Kong, one of the city’s premier art events, will return from March 28 to 30, 2025, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This edition will showcase 242 galleries from 42 countries and territories, with over half of the participating galleries hailing from the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey and Australia. This highlights the art fair’s commitment to providing a platform for the region’s vibrant art scene.
