K-Pop Girl Group Itzy to Perform in Singapore in January 2023

South Korean girl group Itzy has announced that they will be bringing their world tour, Itzy The 1st World Tour Checkmate, to Singapore.

The K-pop quintet are set to perform at The Star Theatre on January 28, 2023. 

The group is currently on their first world tour since it debuted in 2019. The tour kicked off on August 6 in Seoul, South Korea and is expected to continue on to cities in Asia and North America.

The K-pop girl group themselves debuted under JYP Entertainment and consists of five members, Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna. Popular from the get-go, the group released their first album, It’z Different, and scored one of the biggest Billboard debuts for a new K-pop act in years. 

Itzy received their first music show win just eight days after their debut and broke the record for the fastest time a girl group achieved their first music show win. The lead song on the album, Dalla Dalla, then went on to win nine more times at various music shows. The song also surpassed 100 million streams on the Gaon Music Chart by November 2019.
