Time always seems to speed up in the last few months of the year, doesn’t it? And it’s the same this year too—you might be recovering from all those Halloween parties, but November’s here now, and it brings with it plenty of exciting events to Hong Kong.
From K-pop singer and actor Chanyeol’s two-nights-only concert to the much-anticipated Gay Games, there are lots to do and see in the city and its neighbouring areas this month. Read on to find out which one catches your fancy.

1. 7th edition of TEDxTinHauWomen
When: November 25 and 26
Where: The Arca, 43 Heung Yip Road, Wong Chuk Hang
What: TEDxTinHauWomen is back for its 7th edition, and this year’s theme is: “Two Steps Forward”. Among the speakers are Natalie Chung, a climate advocate who will talk about Hong Kong’s climate resilience; Maaike Steineback, co-CEO of FemTech Association Asia who will discuss the rise of femtech; and Henry Tse on transgender activism. The event will also host the “Inclusive For All” exhibition where attendees will be able to experience what ethnic minorities go through everyday, through the power of virtual reality technology.
2. Worrrrrr-king Weekend Market
When: November 25 and 26
Where: The Arca, 43 Heung Yip Road, Wong Chuk Hang
What: As a tribute to Tsui Hark’s Da Gong Wong Tai (1985) and its theme song, local brands and event organisers, Fierce and Y2K, are putting together Hong Kong’s biggest independent market for the month of November. Drop by the Meant Worrrrrr-king Weekend Market at The Arca to celebrate the creative community and local culture in Hong Kong, and have fun.
3. Make Waves for Hong Kong
When: November 4
Where: Around Hong Kong Island
What: Scheduled to start in the early hours of the morning from Sandy Bay near Cyberport, this event by NGO Splash Foundation will see 30 elite swimmers and corporate leaders swim for hours to raise HK$2.5 million and help spread awareness of the benefits of swimming. The funds raised will go towards teaching underprivileged children and adults how to swim.

4. Gay Games Hong Kong 2023
When: November 3-11
Where: Several locations across Hong Kong
What: After being postponed due to Covid, Gay Games is finally coming to the city from November 3-11, making it the first time this event is being held in Asia in its 41-year history. With a mission to create a positive and lasting impact on how society perceives the LGBTQ+ community, the event is open to people of all sexual orientations, gender identity, ethnicity or training level. On top of the sports competitions, there will be three nights of music and performances at the Wonderland Main Stage in West Kowloon featuring local and international artists.

5. Dog Adoption Day by SPCA
When: November 11, from 2:30pm to 4:30pm
Where: SPCA Wanchai Centre, 5 Wan Shing Street, Wan Chai
What: Any plans for Single’s Day? What about meeting your lifelong companion? The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) will hold a Dog Adoption Day on November 11. If you’re subscribed to the “adopt, don't shop” philosophy but have been on the fence, you can try out fostering first, or go ahead and meet your new best friend and give them a forever home!
6. Chanyeol’s ‘Fancon The Eternity’
When: November 24-25
Where: AsiaWorld-Expo
What: K-pop star and Exo band member Chanyeol will celebrate his birthday month with Hong Kong fans, as he is taking over AsiaWorld-Expo for two nights with his concert Fancon The Eternity. The original date, November 25, got sold out instantly, which is why the singer and actor added one more show the previous day.

7. Yo-Yo Ma in Hong Kong
When: November 8
Where: Concert Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Centre
What: This one-night-only musical event, which celebrates the 60th anniversary of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, sees Hong Kong Philharmonic Music Director Jaap van Zweden and renowned Chinese American cellist Yo-Yo Ma come together to play Czech composer Antonín Dvořák’s solo composition Cello Concerto in B Minor from 1894.

8. Artists’ Market by Blue Supreme
When: November 5
Where: Blue Supreme, 21 Tung Street, Sheung Wan
What: In collaboration with Brazilian artist Jum, gastropub Blue Supreme is organising its first-ever artists’ market to highlight the city’s creative community. Browse through artwork, clothes, accessories and vinyl records, while nibbling on delectable street food that the restaurant has curated specially for the occasion. Bonus: Dogs from Lifelong Animal Protection will be at the event looking for new homes.

9. Keshi’s ‘Epilogue Tour’
When: November 21
Where: AsiaWorld-Expo
What: Asian American artist Keshi is coming to Hong Kong for the first time as part of his Epilogue Tour. The audience will be able to enjoy his unique lo-fi retro hip-hop style in emotional tunes such as Limbo, Understand, Like I Need U and more. He’ll then continue his tour in Chengdu and Guangzhou.
10. Il Divo’s ‘A New Day Tour’
When: November 15
Where: Kitec’s Star Hall, Kitec
What: Classical vocal group Il Divo is returning to Hong Kong with its latest concert A New Day Tour. This is the male quartet’s first Asia tour with its new member Steven LaBrie, who replaced the group’s Spanish baritone Carlos Marín after he passed away due to Covid in December 2021. The tour will continue to Taipei, Bangkok and Seoul after that.
