1. Sign of the Times
Styles’ debut solo after One Direction’s hiatus, this track is somewhere between a soft rock ballad and a pop rock song. Released in 2017, Styles’ first solo was an instant hit, quickly reaching number one on the UK Singles chart and earning him several awards, including the Brit Award for British Artist Video of the Year.
The piano epic is sung from the perspective of a mother dying in childbirth and sees Styles pivoting between falsetto and full-throated belting. Fans have also drawn various parallels between Styles’ hit and music offerings of music icons Prince and David Bowie.
2. As It Was
The lead single from his third album, Harry’s House, As It Was was instantly met with critical praise, and rightfully so. The first glimpse into the singer’s latest era, this 2022 track is a bittersweet ode to change, offering a different vibe compared to his previous pieces. Debuted as number one on the 2022 UK Singles chart and with over two billion listens on Spotify, the 2022 hit is by far one of Styles’ most popular tracks.
3. Adore You
The second single from his second album, Fine Line, this track offers themes of love and its various stages from bliss to desire. Adored by many of his fans, the track offers catchy beats that mask its powerful lyrics—listen closely and you’ll notice that while the front vocals sing “you don’t have to say you love me,” the background is pleading “say you love me”.

4. Fine Line
The last track on his 2019 album of the same name, Fine Line is a tragic yet beautiful song. The six-minute epic sees Styles singing about his ex as they walk on the line between friends and lovers.
5. Cherry
One of the most powerful tracks in his 2019 album, Fine Line, is a beautiful song of heartbreak, grief and jealousy. The heart-wrenching song is allegedly about his ex-girlfriend, Camille Rowe, who appears at the end of the track with a French voice note.
