4. Kumukutikutitap
Filipino musician Ryan Cayabyab’s masterpiece takes on the Filipino word that means 'sparkling', and defines the atmosphere of Christmas in the Philippines: where there are flickering lights, coloured displays, festive furnishings and ornamental works of art everywhere. Decorations such as garlands, parols, and the biggest gold star one can find and imagine shine brightest at this time of the year.
5. Sa May Bahay Ang Aming Bati
As early as now, a chorus of wassailers is preparing to knock people’s hats off with a live performance or a dance number thrown in between their singing and display of skills. Previously known as Namamasko, this song is the top selection when it comes to carolling and asking for aguinaldo—the majority’s preferred form of Christmas gift, fresh bills.
