The Walt Disney Company has recently announced its extensive lineup of TV series and movies for 2025, and fans have plenty to look forward to.
The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific (APAC) Content Showcase, which took place on November 20 and 21 at Marina Bay Sands, put the spotlight on Disney’s impressive release calendar for the upcoming year across Marvel Studios, Pixar, Walt Disney Animation Studios and more.

1. Lilo & Stitch

Set to premiere in theatres on May 23, 2025, the upcoming movie is a live-action reimagining of the animated classic of the same name. We follow Hawaiian girl Lilo and her alien pet Stitch as they fight aliens while mending Lilo’s broken family.

The third instalment of the Avatar film series, Avatar: Fire and Ash follows Na’vi leader Jake Sully, Na’vi warrior Neytiri and the Sully family as they take on new adventures in Pandora. The upcoming movie stars Guardians of the Galaxy’s Zoe Saldana, Terminator Salvation’s Sam Worthington and Titanic’s Kate Winslet.
3. The Amateur
Mr Robot’s Rami Malek plays a smart and introverted CIA decoder, Charlie Heller. When his wife is killed in a London terrorist attack, he takes matters into his own hands. We see Heller embark on a one-man mission to find the killers.
4. A Complete Unknown
This American biographical drama tells the story of a young Bob Dylan and his rise to becoming one of the most iconic singers in history. Dune’s Timothée Chalamet stars and sings as Bob Dylan. Alongside Chalamet is Maleficent’s Elle Fanning, Top Gun: Maverick’s Monica Barbaro and Fight Club’s Edward Norton.
5. Thunderbolts*
This upcoming movie by Marvel Studios puts the spotlight on our favourite antiheroes as they are recruited to go on government-assigned missions. We see the return of Florence Pugh as Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes and David Harbour as Red Guardian. Thunderbolts* is set to premiere in theatres on May 2, 2025.
6. Captain America: Brave New World
Anthony Mackie returns as Sam Wilson in Captain America: Brave New World. After officially taking up the mantle of Captain America and meeting with the newly elected US President Thaddeus Ross, Wilson finds himself in the middle of an international incident. Alongside Mackie is Indiana Jones’s Harrison Ford and Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito.
