Here’s what audiences should watch out for from the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) National Theatre Live lineup this January 2025
Audiences are invited to watch two plays that delve into the lives, complexities, and resilience of women. The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) National Theatre Live brings Prima Facie to Ayala Malls Cinemas in Glorietta, Makati, at 6 pm, and Fleabag to Ayala Vertis North in Quezon City and Central Bloc in Cebu at the same time.
Launched in June 2009, the UK’s National Theatre Live is a groundbreaking initiative that broadcasts world-class British theatre to cinemas worldwide. These productions are digitally filmed in high-definition before live theatre audiences and specially optimised for the big screen, ensuring the magic of theatre is accessible to all.

‘Prima Facie’

Olivier and Tony Award-winning actress Jodie Comer takes centre stage in Suzie Miller’s riveting masterpiece. The play follows a formidable lawyer who has climbed from humble beginnings to the top of her profession—cross-examining, defending, and winning.
However, an unexpected turn of events forces her to grapple with the intersection of patriarchal power, legal burden of proof, and her own moral compass. Directed by Justin Martin, this solo tour de force was captured live at London’s Harold.

Fan-favourite Fleabag makes its return to Ayala Vertis North and Central Bloc Cebu on the same evening. Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and directed by Vicky Jones, this wickedly funny and unapologetically honest play offers a glimpse into the chaotic life of a woman navigating messy relationships, a struggling guinea pig café, and a spiralling sense of self.
This award-winning play, which inspired the critically acclaimed BBC series, was filmed live on stage in London’s West End in 2019.
