And just like that, August slipped away and it is now September, a brand new month with a slew of incredible new K-drama releases to look forward to.
This month, hardcore K-drama fans have much to look out for across a variety of streaming platforms as we welcome a host of romances, variety shows and terrifying thrillers to our screens.
From the Korean adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel, Little Women, to the Netflix crime drama Narco-Saints, the most expensive Korean drama ever made per episode, here’s what you need to keep your eyes out for this month.

1. Little Women

Little Women, Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel, is getting turned into a Korean drama and we could not be more excited.
Starring Kim Go-Eun, Nam Ji-Hyun and Park Ji-Hu, the show tells the story of three wildly different but connected sisters who are going head to head against the richest and most influential family in South Korea.

2. The Law Cafe

The Law Cafe is an upcoming K-drama starring Lee Seung-gi and Lee Se-young. The adorable series tells the love story of Kim Jeong-ho, a former lawyer and Kim Yu-ri who has a four-dimensional personality.
The highly anticipated drama was initially scheduled to premiere on August 29 but was pushed back to September 5 at the last minute. We don’t know about you, but that only makes us more eager to see it.

3. Young Actors' Retreat

Young Actor’s Retreat is a variety show that you absolutely cannot miss this September if you are a K-drama fan. The show stars cast members from some of the most popular K-dramas out there such as Love in the Moonlight, Itaewon Class and The Sound of Magic.
Together, Park Seo-joon, Ahn Bo-hyun, Park Bo-gum, Kim Yoo-jung, Ji Chang-wook and Hwang In-youp will compete in games and travel together in what promises to be a spectacularly fun retreat.

4. Mental Coach Jegal

A Model Family’s Jung Woo and Squid Game’s Lee Yoo-mi team up for this sporty drama in which a disgraced taekwondo athlete, Jegal Gil, becomes a mental coach for other athletes.
When he gets paired with a stoic short-track speed skater, Gil quickly finds that he is up for his greatest challenge yet.

5. Blind

In this terrifying Korean thriller, detective Ryu Sung-joon is asked to help solve a case after multiple jury members are murdered.
Ryu, who will be played by Taecyeon from the hit Korean drama Vincenzo, will be joined by his older brother, an idealistic judge and a social worker as they all fight to solve the case.

6. May It Please the Court

Disney+ has really been knocking it out of the park with their slew of Korean dramas lately and this month, we get to look forward to a brand new one.
In the streaming platform’s latest legal drama, May It Please the Court, Jung Ryeo-won returns to our screens to play No Chak-hee, a lawyer at a top firm on track to making partner.
Unfortunately, when she finally gets the job, complications with a new case get her suspended and demoted to working as a public defender where she has to work with an idealistic colleague.

7. X in Crisis

In this hilarious drama, The Accidental Detective stars Kwon Sang-woo and Sung Dong-il tell the story of a top university graduate who goes on to work at a top company in the country.
Fast forward a couple of years and he is now a middle-aged man on the brink of bankruptcy whose life gets upended by a cranky neighbourhood doctor.

8. Narco-Saints

We all love a good crime drama and Netflix is here to deliver with Narco-Saints, also known as the most expensive Korean drama ever made per episode.
The series stars Ha Jung-woo, Hwang Jung-min and Park Hae-soo and tells the story of a Korean businessman who sets up a shop in Suriname in South America and unexpectedly becomes involved in the local crime scene.

9. Love in Contract

Korean superstar Park Min-young is back on our screens after starring in the hit drama, Forecasting Love and Weather.
In Love in Contract, Park stars as Choi Sang-eun, a young woman who works as a contracted spouse. This means that she allows her clients to marry her all while they continue to maintain their singlehood.
However, things get complicated when Choi finds herself in an unexpected love triangle.

10. One Dollar Lawyer

In this legal drama, Hot Stove League’s Namkoong Min plays Cheon Ji-hun, a lawyer who only charges his clients 1,000 won to get them out of legal troubles.
When he meets Baek Ma-ri, a prosecutor’s assistant from a prestigious legal family, everything changes.

11. The Empire of Law

After a three-year hiatus, famed actress Kim Sun-a returns to our screens as Han Hye-rul, a prosecutor from a well-known legal family. Despite everything she has, Han is always striving for more and attempting to do better.
Starring Ahn Jae-wook and Lee Mi-sook as well, the series will depict some of the most scandalous feuds among the most powerful and nepotistic families.

12. Gold Spoon
Above The Golden Spoon
High school student Lee Seungcheon comes from an extremely poor family and has had to struggle for most of his life. His fortune changes one day however when he meets an old woman who offers him a magical golden spoon. The lady tells him that if he uses the spoon at a friend’s house three times, their parents will switch.
As you can imagine, the drama begins to unfold after Lee buys the spoon from the woman and visits a rich friend of his.
