From the moment they arrived on the scene, Allday Project began racking up an array of remarkable achievements for a rookie group, especially given their unconventional format in the Korean market.
In late June 2025, Allday Project, The Black Label’s inaugural co-ed group, sparked widespread discussion across the global K-pop community, thanks to a string of standout milestones right from the start.
Notably, just three days after its release, Famous, the group’s debut single, became the first Gen 5 debut track to reach the top spot on the Melon Top 100 chart in real time, setting a new record. The track also climbed to No. 1 on the Bugs chart and secured places in the Top 10 on both Genie and Flo. Internationally, the single made an impression too, entering at No. 34 on the Billboard Global Excl. US and No. 94 on the Billboard Global 200.
The group also took to the stage to promote their single on high-profile Korean platforms such as Inkigayo, Zip Daesung and Cultwo Show Radio. A first-place win on M Countdown followed, signalling their wide-reaching appeal to a general audience.
Dispelling public skepticism about the co-ed band model
The Korean music industry has grown increasingly crowded and competitive in recent years. Alongside still-active Gen 3 and Gen 4 groups, the latest wave, Gen 5, has brought fresh faces like BabyMonster, BoyNextDoor and TWS, all attracting significant attention. Against this backdrop, a co-ed model may seem a gamble. Audiences have voiced doubts, citing the limited success of similar past attempts. Others questioned the group dynamic, suggesting that mixed-gender line-ups might feel forced, or struggle to cultivate a strong, loyal fan base.

Yet, from the moment The Black Label introduced its members, Allday Project became a hot topic within K-pop circles. The line-up—female members Bailey, Youngseo and Annie, and male members Tarzzan and Woochan—stood out for their striking visuals, distinct personal flair, and considerable artistic talent. As a result, public sentiment began to shift. Fans warmed to the group and found themselves intrigued by a fresh concept in a landscape where co-ed groups remain few and far between.
With their official debut, Allday Project’s performance swiftly overturned earlier scepticism. According to music critic Lim Hee Yun, co-ed groups flourished in the 1990s, fuelled by television exposure. Now, the rise of social media could be driving a resurgence. Hee Yun suggests The Black Label may be targeting a specific segment: listeners who enjoy Korean music and live performance culture, but who aren’t necessarily devoted to any one idol. In the longer term, Allday Project may not only shape a new trend in the Korean industry but also redefine the way fans relate to music groups.
A breakthrough driven by distinctive style, strong music and smart media moves
While their sound carries the unmistakable hip-hop DNA of YG Entertainment, the parent company of The Black Label, each member of Allday Project brings a distinct personality and tone to the mix, deepening public interest and intrigue.

While Annie became the focus of public and media attention due to her background as a “Samsung princess”, Bailey drew notice for her work as a choreographer for major names including aespa, Red Velvet and Lisa (Blackpink). Meanwhile, Youngseo was previously on track to debut with another prominent Gen 5 group, ILLIT, and Woochan had been a trainee under both Cube and Hybe. Only Tarzzan was entirely new to the industry, yet still attracted attention for his striking appearance.
Notably, in contrast to YG’s traditionally low-profile approach, The Black Label adopted a more visible promotional strategy for Allday Project, aiming to boost the group’s public recognition. In particular, they performed across several music shows in late June, while preparing a round of fan meetings for early July. They are also scheduled to appear at the SBS Summer Gayo Daejun 2025 on 26 July.

The most vital factor in Allday Project’s early success remains the quality of their music. Produced by Teddy Park with Tarzzan, Youngseo and Woochan contributing to the lyrics, Famous received strong praise and left many listeners eager to play it again and again. The choreography by Bailey, along with the visual and sonic elements of the Famous music video, were also widely applauded. Soon after, the group released Wicked, which continued to win favour for its distinctive, powerful and individual style.

At their debut performance on M Countdown, Allday Project was well-received for their vocal delivery, dance skills and overall stage presence. While some believe the group still has areas to develop, they have made a promising start for newcomers. With time on their side, they have room to grow. Looking ahead, fans can look forward to more high-quality releases from the group and hope to see them follow in the footsteps of earlier successes as they aim for international recognition.
