“This is a celebration of the good, the bad, and all the different versions of all women who have lived and remain,” says Lim
One of the iconic symbols that represent women is Eve, a key figure in Christianity and Gnosticism, regarded as the “mother of all living things.” She is the embodiment of the supreme feminine principle. It is no surprise that this women's month, her name—the very symbol that she embodies—is once again in the spotlight.
Last March 1, Intramuros honoured and celebrated women through an art exhibit and installation by renowned missionary visual artist and Philippine Navy Ambassador Kristine Lim. The Redemption of Eve, roughly translated as Ang Hustisya Ni Eba, revolves around Eve and women's social roles.

Of course, there wouldn't be a gathering without discussion. The forum that preceded the event, which tackled women of faith in nation-building, offered insights into women from different walks of life. Some topics addressed were strengthening a sustainable Philippines through women leaders, why women matter in social work and socio-enterprise, women of faith in mission, and more.

Lim made a statement which aims to enlighten everyone about Eve and women in general. She said that no words could change anyone's mind about who they perceive Eve to be and that nothing can change the view towards a woman or women to one's story.
“This is not retaliation. This is not a cry for justice,” Lim says. “This is a celebration of the good, the bad, and all the different versions of all women who have lived and remain! We are who we are, and we are redeemed by embracing our roles and identity. We are integral in the fulfilment of the greatest victory; a battle on the cross that has already been won!”
