With breathtaking views, lush landscapes and a vibrant community, Maricon Andraos chose Anvaya Cove by Ayala Land Premier as her forever home
Tucked amidst crystal clear waters and the beauty of nature, Anvaya Cove by Ayala Land Premier is a leisure development that seamlessly blends the excitement of a seaside resort with the tranquility of a mountain retreat, boasting an array of services, activities, and amenities, such as the Golf and Sport club, as well as the Beach and Nature Club.
The interconnectedness to nature can be strongly felt not only in the abundant greenery, but also in the wildlife. Migratory birds frequent the area alongside turtles at the local sanctuary. But it’s the people that truly make this community inviting. Tatler Philippines and Stephanie Zubiri spoke with resident Maricon Andraos to discover why she and her husband, Samir, chose to transform what was once just a vacation retreat into their forever home.
Entering Maricon’s abode through a handcrafted patterned door, one is greeted by an elegant console table adorned with ornaments pertaining to a certain theme that changes with her whims. One can immediately feel the wealth of space available, which it owes to its high ceilings and further accentuated by the long, flowing sheer curtains accompanying the tall windows. The abundance of natural light evokes a sense of warmth, while the surrounding trees, flowers, and other flora around the property give off an unmistakably cool and gentle atmosphere.

The living room and adjacent secondary seating area is a love letter to the couple’s travels. A coffee table is decorated with books, magazines, and pamphlets chronicling their journeys to Morocco, Thailand, France, Bolivia, and Samir’s birthplace, Lebanon.
‘‘We love travelling, but once we see the beautiful trees when we arrive, we’d always say ‘we’re home.’ Of all the places we’ve been to, this is the only place that makes us feel this way,’’ she shares.
Elephant figurines, which Maricon considers her ‘‘spirit animal,’’ are thoughtfully placed throughout, adding a personal touch to the space. The colour of the sofa and cushions are all selected to complement Samir’s chosen rugs; he is an avid collector, often purchasing them whenever he is in a celebratory mood, or when he's sad and needs a pick-me-up. Vibrant hues of blue and yellow balance out the white tones, creating a cohesive work of art. This space is seamlessly connected to the dining area and the breakfast nook, where the couple like to spend their mornings together. During just the right season, the fire trees in their backyard bloom to life with breathtaking orange and red leaves. On days with fair weather, the couple like to take walks along the beach, or simply while the hours away.

The heart of the space is the kitchen, made up of ivory countertops offering generous room for her brilliant plate and wine collection. It’s where she hosts frequent gatherings for her neighbours; she’s especially fond of the progressive dinners she has with them, wherein they would visit each other’s houses for a different meal course, offering perspectives and insights into each other’s lives. In addition, wine-tasting events, outreach activities, and Christmas gatherings, add several more avenues for her to connect with them.
Ascending the staircase to the second floor offers a better vantage point of the home’s interior. The large windows on both sides become even more prominent, and it’s where the couple like to enjoy watching thunderstrikes on rainy days. They and other residents are awarded a unique living experience as they behold panoramic views of Subic Bay, Ilingin Cove, the West Philippine Sea, and the Bataan and Zambales mountain ranges.

Beyond this beautiful home lies the tranquil community of Anvaya Cove, brimming with activities and spectacles to do with family and friends. The 18-hole 72-par all-weather championship golf course is a highlight, with hole 11 offering challenging sand traps and hole 12 culminating in one of the location’s pristine beaches. The sports club houses the fitness centre, swimming pools, game centres, and several multipurpose courts, perfect for leisurely play or for those with competitive spirits. For those who feel more connected to the sea, the Beach and Nature Club features a variety of amenities from the seahorse kid's village to the Watersports Pavilion where families can delight in snorkeling and kayaking.
After long hours under the sun, Anvaya’s restaurants—Lakefront 9, Bamboo Café, and Pawikan Bar and Grill—serve a range of culinary delights. Each one is designed to complement that seaside experience this community has.

Maricon and Samir have found something special in Anvaya Cove. There’s a certain charm that seems inescapable underneath the canopies of trees, the slow, relaxing movement of clouds, and the presence of likeminded friends and neighbours. The interconnectedness to nature and an inherent respect to the lay of the land greatly contributes to this feeling. More than a residence, this place is a lifestyle all on its own. Within this slice of paradise, something new and refreshing is always around the corner, and one will always look forward to what tomorrow brings.
