Start sleeping better by choosing the right type of mattress!

Sleep is key to maintaining good physical and mental health, which makes mattress shopping an important task for all.

You need a mattress that can provide support and comfort throughout the night while your body is at work—the nervous system relaxes, the immune system releases cytokines to fight inflammation, infection, and trauma, and the pituitary gland releases growth hormones.

TYPES OF MATTRESSES

There are four types of mattresses you can choose from:

A foam mattress is made with—you guessed it—foam without coils. They suit side sleepers and couples as they provide pressure relief and motion isolation.

A bouncier option would be an innerspring mattress. It has many layers including a coil-based support system. Although it provides support, it lacks pressure relief, which is why it’s often cheaper.

Hybrids are a great fit for all kinds of sleepers as it’s made with foam or latex (some are designed with coils as well.) It offers both bounce and contouring with low heat retention.

You can set up an airbed using a pump to fill its air chamber with enough air which serves as its support core. Sleepers with this type of mattress can control their firmness just by adding or releasing air using a remote or a smartphone.

Here’s where you can get high-quality mattresses:

Sealy

Sealy’s mattresses are always designed with spinal support as a priority. They work hand in hand with their Orthopaedic Advisory Board to make sure the mattresses they produce provide comfort and spinal support. They consult with Orthopaedic surgeons as well.

The Posturepedic Mattress – Orthopaedic Signature is one of the most-loved items from Sealy as it’s made for those who suffer from back pain.

Emma

It has seven zones which means that there are different parts of the mattress that are harder or firmer depending on which part of the body it’s supposed to support.
