位于德国哈根的百年建筑,曾是艺术赞助人梦想中工艺与设计的殿堂。在柏林设计师Gisbert Pöppler的精心重塑下,这处由Gisbert Pöppler打造的奢华住宅再次焕发生机。

1921年,在德国鲁尔区边缘,路德维希兄弟在哈根完成了一座别墅的建造。这是由收藏家兼实业家Karl Ernst Osthaus委托打造的一系列建筑中的杰作。Osthaus构想的Hohenhagen花园城市,正是当时最具前瞻性的建筑师们的实验田。Bruno Taut、Walter Gropius、Peter Behrens和Henry van de Velde等大师都曾受邀在哈根留下印记。他们的共同目标,是在工业化生产逐渐将艺术与工艺割裂的时代,让二者重新融合,这也是设计师Gisbert Pöppler在该项目中秉持的核心理念。

这座如今被称为“Garden Home”的住宅,坐落在拥有百年古树的广阔公园之中。其外观依然保留着那个时代的印记:带有故意烧制不均砖块的克林克砖立面,呈现出著名的砖砌表现主义风格。Gisbert Pöppler自2004年起在柏林经营自己的工作室,专注于室内设计与家具创作。当他初次走进这座别墅时,发现内部早已在几十年前被粗糙地翻新,丧失了原有的韵味。而Gisbert Pöppler的目标正是重塑其美学底蕴。

“我们深知这里的历史,所以期望值非常高,”Gisbert Pöppler说道,“当我们抵达时,既印象深刻又感到十分震惊。”该别墅在二战中遭受火灾,20世纪80年代的修复工程几乎是对原始结构的亵渎:五金店的聚苯乙烯装饰线条、金色的嵌入式射灯,以及与楼层对不齐的楼梯踏步。在Gisbert Pöppler眼中,除了壁炉保留了下来,其余皆无可取之处。

作为受保护的历史建筑,别墅立面保持原貌。业主最初只寻求Gisbert Pöppler在色彩和陈设上的建议。然而当他坦言内部状况的严重性,并指出供暖、电路和窗户必须全部更换后,项目规模迅速扩大。“幸运的是,我们的客户立刻理解了这一点,”他说。Gisbert Pöppler以卓越的职业洞察力引领了此次升级。

业主是一个有地域根基的创业家族,该住宅不仅是私人住所,还用于商务聚会。这一功能需求塑造了户型规划。一楼的三间小房间被合二为一,变成了可接待大型团体的花园大厅。Gisbert Pöppler巧妙地平衡了这种多功能性。

为了解决南向房间采光不足的问题,Gisbert Pöppler团队倾斜了窗户,引入更多光线。温室与起居大厅之间的一处椭圆形眼状窗被重新开启,并加装了天窗,将上方树冠的景观引入室内,这是Gisbert Pöppler精雕细琢的细节之一。

在入口大厅,通道被抬高了近一米,配以圆拱装饰,拓宽了通往起居室、休息室和花园的视觉通道。通往上层私密区域的楼梯被重塑为一条内衬粉色亚麻油毡的通道。Gisbert Pöppler说:“上层是家人的休憩空间,我们通过这个通道打造了必要的私密性。”

为生活而设计的Gisbert Pöppler杰作

在969平方英尺的起居室内,摆放着Gisbert Pöppler亲自设计的Belenus餐桌,橡木材质,可伸展至容纳18人。地面铺设了带紫色调的水磨石,既耐用又美观,因为室内外空间是无缝衔接的。在花园房中,天花板采用了游艇制造工艺的木板,表面保留了微波纹而非平整打磨。一抹芥末黄漆面墙裙沿着一楼墙基延伸,既打破了空间的尺度感,又足以抵御家中两只狗狗带来的磨损。

色彩构成了该宅邸的核心个性。三色门户在起居厅与沙龙之间的通道汇合:起居室的浅蓝、画室的红以及护壁板的黄。Gisbert Pöppler回忆道,负责油漆工作的工匠在动工前曾因为这大胆的组合而感到不安,担心效果。业主当时回应道:“信任Gisbert Pöppler先生,效果一定会很棒。”

匠心工艺涵盖了广泛的专业网络:维尔茨堡的木匠、巴黎的装潢师、比利时的黄铜铸造厂、尼泊尔手纺羊绒毯以及希腊的大理石洗手盆。花园由皇家花园学院的Manuel Wehrle设计,包括一座由植物过滤的天然游泳池、一个部分由两只鸭子打理的菜园,以及由当地养蜂人照看的蜂箱,完美契合Gisbert Pöppler打造的自然愿景。

翻新完成后,业主邀请了每一位参与者庆祝,从屋顶工人到保洁公司。Gisbert Pöppler说道:“客户独特的态度让我印象深刻,他们好奇、进取,且对各方面都抱有浓厚兴趣。”这份信任与好奇,成就了Gisbert Pöppler笔下的又一经典。
