Dr Pier Luigi Vitalini offers a look into his log house in Baguio, a nature lover’s dream you can soon call yours
Boasting beautiful pine trees, great mountain views and chilly weather all year round, Baguio has long captured the hearts of many locals and tourists alike. Among its many enduring qualities, its cool climate primarily drew Dr Pier Luigi Vitalini to establish a home there. An Italian who has lived in Miami and Monte Carlo, Vitalini had already retired when he moved to the Philippines a decade ago, instantly growing enamoured with both the people and the welcoming atmosphere. Nestled in a secure, private area in Camp John Hay, the house is a glorious marvel of natural hardwood—from its beams and columns to its floors, walls and trusses. Avowedly a fan of the material and confident of his European sense of style, Vitalini worked on restoring the estate to its pristine splendour while also making it his own over the years.
Apart from the six bedrooms, library and vast entertaining space on the property, it is also currently home to a small workshop where he satisfies a deep-seated passion for developing furniture, a greenhouse where he cultivates his own garden as well as his personal collection of paintings, silverware and Tibetan-style goods.

Ultimately, the lush surroundings are really what Vitalini has enjoyed most about the rustic residence. Allowing him and his wife to roam around freely and hike in the woods during the pandemic, the log house was truly a godsend, all the more highlighting the benefits of living in one of Baguio’s most exclusive addresses.

Now up for grabs to those who share their unadulterated love for serene and blissful nature, the unique property is undoubtedly a prime investment. “I’ve had ten very pleasurable years here,” Vitalini muses. “I imagine the one who’d come here will be a CEO of substance. They will make it a retirement place with ample visiting spaces for family and friends. Alternatively, it could also be a large corporation, using this as a meeting and vacation place.”
