The opportunity to stay at Quincy House Singapore, Far East Hospitality’s recently launched upscale serviced apartment, came at an interesting time for me: it was the start of Singapore Design Week 2024 and, coincidentally, the week of my husband’s birthday. For me, this meant juggling work engagements and personal celebrations. Where better to do that than in a place designed to cater to your quirks, with the tagline “Be yourself at Quincy”?
Nestled in the vibrant enclave of Holland Village, Quincy House Singapore is Far East Hospitality’s latest addition under the Quincy brand. Embodying the essence of modern urban living, it has been designed to appeal not only to the typical solo short-term business travellers and overseas tourists but also to an emerging and growing segment of families and domestic guests seeking a change of scenery or short- to mid-term accommodation between more permanent stays. This, as Arthur Kiong, chief executive of Far East Hospitality, explained during Quincy House Singapore’s media opening soirée, is part of the brand’s mission to cater to a diverse audience.

This common living room includes a versatile long table that serves as a a communal space for residents to interact with each other or a working surface for those with flexible working arrangements. Next to it is the Grab & Go area, where breakfast is served in the morning, and a selection of snacks is available all day to ensure guests are never without refreshments.
These indoor spaces segue into an alfresco area overlooking the lively, pet-friendly One Holland Village mall, which was also designed by MKPL Architects. An alfresco kitchen and lounge turn this space into the perfect spot for winding down in the evening or enjoying a quiet moment under the stars.

Asylum Creative has dressed the rooms in a calming palette of greens and neutral shades that appeals across generations. The interior design vibe is modern contemporary, with clever features that I personally appreciated, like the highly versatile notice board mounted on the wall of each apartment. Beyond its function as a pegboard, it also serves as a coat and bag hanger with retractable hooks, as well as a magazine rack or storage system with its stylish leather pouches.

The minimalist-slanted interior design belies ample storage space that ensures all your belongings can be neatly organised. The base of the bed frame features storage compartments, while nooks beneath the wardrobe store footwear. These nooks are even fitted with cove lighting to make searching easier.
I stayed in a One-Bedroom Deluxe apartment, which felt spacious for two people. However, touring the other apartment types, I found myself most impressed by the design solutions for the smaller units.

These include a hidden countertop that can be pulled out as needed, and the narrow space between the Deluxe Room’s bedframe and the window, which has been cleverly transformed into a snug study nook with a small table—perfect for curling up with a laptop or a book. A dual-key apartment is also available for larger parties or multigenerational families.
Each apartment is equipped with filtered tap water, ensuring guests have easy access to clean water for drinking or cooking. A washer and dryer unit meets laundry needs in the Two-Bedroom Superior, Two-Bedroom Deluxe, and One-Bedroom Deluxe apartments, while a laundrette on the ground floor is also available for the Deluxe Room guests.

When it was time to unwind, the rooftop pool provided a tranquil escape. The 20-metre infinity pool, complemented by an alfresco barbecue pit, offered stunning views and a space equally suited for solitary relaxation or small gatherings.
Between my Singapore Design Week engagements and personal celebrations, returning to Quincy House was a pleasure—a restorative blend of relaxation and productivity, delivering on its promise to let guests truly “be themselves.”

As a child, she doodled on the edges of her schoolbooks and never outgrew her fascination with all things well-made and well-told.
