Amid delectable bites and tipples, Singapore’s design community came together this November to celebrate the launch of Unica X, a series of luxury light switches and sockets by Schneider Electric. Throughout the lively evening, held at Space Furniture, the guests had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the new Unica X range, experiencing the premium feel, sleek profile, and high-end quality first-hand.
With the tagline “ultra-slim, ultra-quality, ultra-function”, the Unica X light switches and sockets announce the key features that make them such an impactful addition to interior spaces.

Their particularly slim profile of just 6.5mm is enhanced by a sophisticated curved design and a lineup of five colours and finishes, while a suite of advanced, hotel-level functions ensures the practical side is taken care of. The latter includes the sockets’ extra quick charging capability as well as a built-in night light that’s easy on the eyes.
Also on display was Unica KNX, a companion collection of Unica X designed to be compatible with smart home systems.
These features came to light throughout the evening, marked by engaging words from Tatler Homes Singapore editor Asih Jenie, as well as Schneider Electric VIPs Yoon Young Kim, cluster president for Singapore and Brunei; Romaric Ernst, vice president of power products and home distribution; Beatrice Maffis, business development lead of wiring devices; and Daphne Tan, head of sales for residential and e-mobility.

“Schneider Electric has been known for technical and engineering expertise, but now we are delving into products that touch the more emotional side of lighting,” says Kim.
Light Collab principal and award-winning lighting designer Toh Yah Li took to the stage for a very special presentation shortly after, delving into how lighting can transform and elevate spaces across typologies, from home interiors to Singapore’s largest precious metals vault.
With piqued interest, the audience proved rather attentive, not only posing thoughtful questions on lighting design but also winning bottles of luscious wine after putting their knowledge of Unica X to the test. A lucky draw crowned a few more lucky winners, who got to bring home bottles of champagne.
