Cover Hermès en Contrepoint dinnerware collection

The Hermès en Contrepoint dinnerware collection transforms the table into a symphony of colour and form, each plate and cup meticulously handcrafted, echoing the harmony of music.

Set against a pristine white porcelain canvas, the geometric lines of Hermès en Contrepoint—Hermès’ latest tableware collection—are a visual rhythm, a choreography of colour and shape, composed like a melody for the dining table.

Inspired by the fluidity of music, the collection dances with circles, squares, diamonds and intricate patterns, evoking the movement of notes on a score. Artist Nigel Peake brings this vision to life with delicate, painterly fringes, each stroke carrying its own rhythm, inviting touch, contemplation, and a quiet appreciation of the unseen symphony within cool porcelain.

With an eye for both artistry and craftsmanship, Charlotte Macaux Perelman and Alexis Fabry—Artistic Directors of Hermès Maison—have orchestrated a collection that turns the dining table into a canvas of colour. The set comprises 33 pieces, each crafted from fine white kaolin porcelain, traced with geometric lines in a soft, luminous palette: pink, lavender, blue, green, terracotta... a total of 30 exquisitely harmonised shades.

Each piece in the Hermès en Contrepoint collection plays its own note—a pink-rimmed plate, a green-edged teacup—meticulously hand-painted to form a delicate counterpoint of colour and composition. Rather than dictating a singular arrangement, the collection opens up infinite creative possibilities. Whether set for an intimate meal or a grand occasion, it invites new rhythms, new stories—each setting a unique expression of personal style.
