The allure of simplicity pervades various aspects of life, and the realm of interior design is no different. Amid ever-changing trends, minimalism has proven to be timeless. Its focus on clean lines and neutral hues helps transform one’s space into a blank canvas, where elegance meets functionality to create a personal retreat

Resounding this ideal was Kuysen’s recently held launch of the AXOR One Matt White collection in Manila. Characterised by slim silhouettes, soft edges, and balanced proportions, this expanded series of understated fixtures is a testament to AXOR’s place at the forefront of bathroom innovation. Aptly titled “AXOR One: The Luxury of Simplicity”, the event invited guests to discover these meticulously crafted pieces while meeting the world-renowned talent behind the collection.

Jay Osgerby, one-half of the British design phenomenon Barber Osgerby Studio, had flown in for the exclusive launch. On stage, he sat with host Nicole Andersson to discuss his style philosophy behind the AXOR One lineup, highlighting its role in creating an oasis of tranquillity within the vibrant cityscape. He was also joined by some of the country’s top architects and interior designers, who echoed his sentiments on simplicity and functionality.

Delving into what he believes is good design, Osgerby said that it should be able to stand the test of time, adding that the best designs are often those that are the most straightforward and easy to understand. This is exemplified by the AXOR One collection in its new matt white finish.

Through their expertise, Barber Osgerby Studio and AXOR have created a paragon of minimalist design. Depending on the environment of one’s bathroom, AXOR One showers, faucets, and thermostats can either blend into a room or stand out against a vibrant palette. At once familiar and innovative, this range will undoubtedly elevate contemporary spaces now that it has arrived in Manila.
