Take a trip down memory lane as SieMatic remembers how it came to be one of the leading names in the kitchen industry
SieMatic has long been a pioneer in the industry, recognising early on that the kitchen is the heart of the home. With quality in mind, their pieces and fixtures have been transforming homes for over a century. Since its founding in 1929, its range of products have graced the homes of discerning individuals, sparking inspiration in designers and architects worldwide. The brand recently celebrated its 95th anniversary at the SieMatic BGC showroom, where guests enjoyed a set of curated activities, good music, flowing drinks, and food.

The program began with speeches from executives of Focus Global Inc, the exclusive distributor of SieMatic in the Philippines. After opening remarks from vice president Loli Sy, chief financial officer Angela Sy shared insights on SieMatic’s rich history. Today, this hallmark of a company has over 70 distributors, 511 dealers, 22 design excellence awards, 4 style collections, and 394 employees. Its lone factory resides in Lohne, Germany, along with its headquarters, where each of their products are carefully made.
“SieMatic is not just about creating kitchens; it's about creating spaces where life unfolds and memories are created,” she enthused. “It's about creating spaces that bring people together, and about turning houses into homes.”

The highlight of the evening was the SieMatic Heritage Quest, an interactive experience where guests can live through the company’s storied past and discover how they came to be at the forefront by pushing the boundaries of groundbreaking design. The first few stations featured SieMatic’s origins, as well as a mapping of everything within 100 kilometres of its headquarters. This is a reference to how its sourcing of materials, construction, and assembly are all proudly performed within this radius—ensuring quality every step of the way, and likewise contributing to the local economy. Afterwards, a presentation was given on the timeline of SieMatic’s various designs, from the first kitchen buffet in 1929, to the first handleless kitchen in 1960, and all the way to the introduction of its SLX concept in 2019.

Before ending the immersive and informative evening, guests were given a preview of the Mondial, their latest kitchen collection. It seamlessly combines elegant, simplistic geometric forms and luxurious, expressive materials, which sets the tone for the future of kitchen design. As the event winded down, attendees answered a personality quiz which determined what kind of SieMatic collection they’d be—Pure, Classic, Urban, or Mondial. The results influenced the flavour of cocktail they received from the menu—all of which were mixed exclusively for the event.
Overall, the evening was a momentous occasion celebrating the legacy of SieMatic and the innovative design of its award-winning kitchen concepts. Guests were able to immerse themselves to see, feel, and experience firsthand the excellence the brand has been known for––from its early beginnings to now, and surely, even for years to come.
