Tootsy Angara’s early years were far from typical. At the young age of seven, she was taken by her late mother, Baboo Mondoñedo, a former top model turned writer-activist, to live among the activists in the Cordillera region. This experience, amidst protests during the country’s martial law, instilled in her a deep sense of social justice and empathy.

This unusual upbringing taught her to value resilience and the importance of standing up for what is right, shaping her into the strong, compassionate woman she is today.
