Start the week off by digging into autumnal flavour—head to Clos Pasoh and revel in hearty contemporary French dishes curated by chef Louis Pacquelin or visit Restaurant Jag for its latest menu that features the best produce of the season. Those who prefer local flavours can take a trip to Cassia and revel in Chinese executive chef Alan Chan’s speciality six-course menu; or head to Red House Seafood’s latest outlet for Nanyang-inspired fare. Burger fans will not want to miss out on Black Tap’s November exclusive: a decadent sandwich accompanied by the joint’s indulgent CrazyShake.

Chef Louis Pacquelin has introduced a new autumnal menu that boasts contemporary French fare. Whether you drop by for lunch or dinner, there is a plethora of dishes to choose from. One of the standouts is the aile de raie, a North Atlantic skate wing bathed in an aromatic fish broth. It’s topped with crispy artichoke heart and a sour herb salad. If you prefer beef, the tartare de boeuf sees hand-cut beef spiced with green curry and house-made cashew nut butter. Complete the meal with a light hazelnut souffle, elevated with Gianduja sauce. This burger joint is welcoming the new month with the exclusive fried turkey and brie sandwich. Available throughout the month of November, this sandwich sees beautiful layers of crispy turkey, melted brie, peppery watercress, cranberry pecan stuffing and roasted garlic mayo stuffed between fluffy bread. Each sandwich is complemented with a serving of cinnamon-dusted sweet potato fries. Complement the meal with the joint’s latest pecan pie CrazyShake, an indulgent pecan vanilla milkshake crowned with fragrant pecan pie, whipped cream and caramel drizzle. Red House Seafood has opened its third outlet at the Esplanade. Here, the menu boasts new and classic dishes that highlight Nanyang-style flavours. Keep your eyes out for the barbecued squid with jellyfish, an outlet exclusive comprising juicy squid that has been marinated in fragrant spices for four hours and grilled until gorgeously charred. Crab lovers can revel in a selection of dishes featuring this luxurious crustacean, such as the crab meat pao fan. The comforting dish sees juicy and luscious crab meat bathed in a hearty broth that has been simmered for 15 hours. It’s finished with a sprinkle of crispy rice, adding texture to each bite. Indulge in hearty Cantonese fare with Chinese executive chef Alan Chan’s latest menu. Curated by Chan himself, the six-course set menu puts the spotlight on chef’s speciality dishes. Head down and get started with the fresh South African abalone that has been cooked in an umami-filled kombu sauce. Once your palate has been whet, dig into tantalising mains like the wok-fried Japanese Miyazaki A5 Wagyu beef coated in a black pepper sauce; and stewed Australian lobster. The latter is served with Inaniwa udon and a light superior broth. Save room for dessert and delight in Chan’s chilled almond jelly, made from smooth almond cream infused with silky tofu. 5. Restaurant Jag

Chef Jeremy Gillon is paying homage to autumn produce with the introduction of the La Balade du Vegetal menu. Available for lunch and dinner, the latest menu features the season’s best produce, presented in 17 plates. Embark on a gastronomic journey and savour creations like the celeriac tartlet, elevated with picked and raw celeriac; and herbaceous parsley root. The latter sees the piquant root beautifully paired with tender venison. The meal ends on a sweet note with the yacon, a sweet creation complemented with a refreshing hazelnut sorbet. Book here.
