Unilever Food Solutions brings Future Menus, an event designed to give restaurateurs the edge they need to succeed

Ever wondered what you want to eat for lunch tomorrow—or next week? Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) presented the Future Menus report, featuring the top 8 global food trends. During the launch event, food industry leaders were given the insights they need to cater to the ever-changing tastes of foodies.

The cornerstone of the event was the grand launch of the UFS Future Menus Report 2024, which featured the top 8 global food trends. It was created with the cooperation of the top names in market research, data analytics of over 56,000 keywords in the industry, and over a thousand professional chefs. It resulted in the eight culinary trends that are expected to develop in years to come; restaurateurs should keep a weather eye out for these developments.

The eight trends featured in the report were Flavour Shock, Local Abundance, Low-Waste Menus, Modernised Comfort Food, Plant-Powered Protein, The New Sharing, Irresistible Vegetables and Feel-Good Food.

“Our overarching intent for today’s event and the Future Menus report is to provide guidance as we work together to get a full grasp of the food business and sink our teeth into the future of food readily, excitedly, together,” manager director of UFS Philippines BJ Carreon said.

In addition to attendees learning from the comprehensive report, Future Menus was also an immersive and interactive event that gave foodies and industry heads key insights from experts, thanks to panel discussions with notable chefs and authorities such as executive chef Joanne Limoanco-Gendrando, chef Jeramie Go, executive chef Ariel Castañeda, and Ryan Morales Reyes also known as Ninong Ry, "I feel like, [always be] on the lookout. Look out for trends. Somehow, along the way, you'll get a sense of what trend will stick," Reyes remarked during the discussion.

The aforementioned food trends were also on full display at showcases located throughout the event. Dishes such as bibingka waffles and sinigang fried chicken gave guests a first taste of what the future of food has to offer.
