Mitchelle Marvis T Ngo, better known to most of us as The Chinita Foodie (her playful social media handle), is a true foodie who spends her free time searching for quality and worthwhile eats. Her Instagram page may not give it away, but professionally, she is a freelance architect, too. As a natural creative, she found herself swimming in the waters of content creation. Through this outlet, she explores two great passions with a fervent, joyful energy: food and beverage, plus the art of being creative. Not only does she capture and edit her own material, but she excitedly adventures around town to discover new tasty haunts. This digital journey of hers began as a way for her to share her new finds with close friends and family. However, her storytelling caught people’s attention, and now here we are today, with swaths of viewers eagerly waiting to hear her advice and food reviews.

What is your go-to restaurant/s for a casual bite?
I always find myself walking into a Din Tai Fung or a Pho Hoa when I don’t want to think about what to eat for a satisfying meal. Din Tai Fung for their dry noodles with spicy shrimp wontons, and Pho Hoa for their grilled chicken vermicelli bowl.
What is your go-to restaurant for a business lunch?
I honestly haven’t had a lot of business lunches, but I think Wildflour’s good.

What is your recommended restaurant for a special evening?
My boyfriend and I always try something new for occasions, but we usually enjoy Asian flavours. A restaurant that we’ve been to twice recently is Aurora.
What is your suggested restaurant for a family meal?
We’re full Chinese, so we find comfort in restaurants like Century or Choi Garden. A wildcard entry would be Hong Kong Mastercook at Dampa Macapagal since we love their salted egg crabs and shrimps so much.
What is your top new restaurant/s find and why?
I loved how Kasa Palma’s flavours were really unique and in-your-face. For something more casual, I liked Bun Run’s cheffy approach to good burgers and fries. It’s also really cool that they have monthly specials.

Where do you enjoy going for a cocktail or nightcap?
I enjoyed my nights at Taquería Franco and Southbank.
What do you think is an underrated restaurant and why?
Chinese Beef Noodle House serves crazy good Northwestern Chinese food that's hard to find around Metro Manila. Their food makes up for what they lack in ambience.
What is your favourite brand to order cakes from and what is your go-to order?
My family is obsessed with Sadie’s Burnt Basque Cheesecakes. We also love ordering Sokola’s crepe and truffle cakes.
What is your favourite restaurant/s for take-away and what do you order?
Crosta Pizzeria’s Morty and Ella for pizza parties, and Salad Stop’s Howdy Wrap (I replace red onions with croutons for extra crunch) when the salad cravings kick in.
