However, it is unavoidable as the old makes way for the new when cafes and bakeries open their doors in Singapore to eager customers craving that viral new pastry, thus leaving behind their older, more traditional counterparts.

While these new bakeries boast sweet new treats for hungry stomachs, Singapore’s very own traditional bakeries still whip up classic cakes, cookies, and all that jazz.

Here are some that you should not forget about.

1. Balmoral Bakery

Paying homage to the treats we grew up with, Balmoral Bakery is committed to producing that similar classic taste with its cakes and pastries. Famous for its savoury pies and fluffy cakes, you can find Balmoral Bakery tucked among a row of shophouses along Sunset Way Residence. The bakery also serves up familiar favourites, including egg tarts with a crumbly crust, as well as the flaky and crispy chicken samosa.
