At the inaugural Tatler Best Awards, the 20 best bars and restaurants this year were revealed along with the Best-in-Class awardees in the hotel, bar and restaurant industries

On the evening of March 10, over 300 industry insiders from the restaurant, bar and hotel worlds came together at Pan Pacific Singapore to celebrate the launch of the Tatler Best Awards in Singapore. This exciting new chapter builds on the legacy of the Tatler Best Asia awards, which made waves in Bangkok last year by spotlighting the Best 100 bars, hotels and restaurants across the region—along with the Best-in-Class in each category.

Hosted by Evangeline Long, the night kicked off with inspiring words from Tatler Singapore’s managing director Stephanie Tay and senior dining editor Dudi Aureus. They shared how the Tatler Best Awards evolved from the long-standing Tatler Dining Guide, which has been Singapore’s go-to source for top dining spots since 1986. “This new initiative provides a comprehensive, expertly curated guide to the region’s finest experiences,” Tay remarked, adding that this marks an exciting new chapter in Tatler’s position as the ultimate authority in lifestyle and travel across Asia.

As the guests sipped on rum-based Zacapa cocktails, fine wines from Penfolds, premium spirits and champagne from Life & Liquor and Limwood, and mocktails from Evian, the excitement built up to the first big moment of the night—a special Best Business Hotel award presented to Pan Pacific Singapore. From there, the spotlight shifted to the much-anticipated reveal of Singapore’s Best 20 bars and restaurants, unranked collections of the best dining and drinking spots that were chosen by Tatler’s expert reviewers and voting panel comprising industry leaders and tastemakers.

The Best-in-Class awards (six for bars, eight for restaurants and nine for hotels) were announced after a short break, allowing the guests to continue savouring the delicious canapés specially prepared by Japanese restaurants Sushi Yuki and Keyaki, Chinese restaurants Peach Blossoms and Hai Tien Lo, and Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay Singapore’s dessert inspired by the Oppo Find N5—the world’s slimmest phone.

The hotel category saw standout winners, with Pan Pacific Orchard making waves for its biophilic and sustainable design, earning the Best Innovation title. Meanwhile, Equarius Hotel was named Best Resort for redefining resort-style staycations in the city. Adding to the excitement, Marina Bay Sands—a globally recognised icon of Singapore—was crowned Hotel of the Year.

In the bar scene, the Best Innovation award, sponsored by Zacapa, drew loud cheers as it was presented to Fura for its creative approach to educating imbibers on sustainable drinking—without compromising on fun. The celebrations continued as East47, the Andy Warhol-inspired bar within Manhattan, took home Best New Bar, while Tamba was honoured with Best Design for its striking African-inspired concept. The night’s biggest bar accolade, Bar of the Year, went to Cat Bite Club, with its head bartender, Erika Danielle, also recognised as this year’s Rising Star.

The restaurant industry’s diversity was well represented, with Peach Blossoms’ Edward Chong receiving the Best Innovation Award—along with an Oppo Find N5. Newcomer Somma, led by chef-partner Mirko Febbrile, made a dazzling debut, winning both Best New Restaurant and Best Service. Closing the evening on a high note, Burnt Ends took home the top honor, being named Tatler Best Singapore’s Restaurant of the Year.
