The Black Pig: Over 10 years of European fine dining

There’s a running joke that those who live in the North of Metro Manila refuse to adjust and visit the South, forcing their dear friends to once again agree to meet in Ortigas, or by some miracle, Makati or Bonifacio Global City. But perhaps it’s because they’ve never had the pleasure of dining at The Black Pig, located along Filinvest Avenue in Alabang. For 11 years, they have been delighting guests and locals with modern European cuisine with vibrant Spanish influences. The restaurant is led by chef Carlos Garcia, who boasts a wealth of experience from his time in Michelin-starred restaurants in Madrid and London. He and his equally dedicated team have created a worthy reason to visit the South.

Metro Manila is a place rife with countless culinary options. Yet, despite the fierce competition, The Black Pig has managed to secure itself a dedicated following, which it owes to its high-quality food and drink, plus fearless innovation, reinventing traditional European dishes with fresh contemporary flavours and ideas.

In an age where we care about what’s in our food just as much as its flavour, our tastes gradually become more mindful and refined. Garcia’s devotion to excellence leads him to source only the finest ingredients to incorporate into his dishes. The combination of globally sourced steaks and fresh local produce make his meals delicious, sustainable, and refreshingly grounded.

From their crisp salads, delectable deboned suckling pig, classic scallops, and of course, succulent steaks, every dish leaves a lasting impression. Garcia assures that each course that comes out of his kitchen has a personal touch, ensuring that they continuously pleasantly surprise and delight guests. Beyond their meals, The Black Pig’s sharp and classy interiors are dressed to match what their menu puts forth, making it the perfect setting for a memorable meal with loved ones.
