Nadodi x Nabi: One night only with Shanghai’s most coveted chef
On June 28, Nadodi will host a collaboration of epic proportions as Chef Yavhin Siriwardhana joins forces with Shanghai’s Chef Tom Ryu—founder of the wildly successful Nabi. This is not just dinner. This is a cultural phenomenon.
Nabi is notoriously impossible to book—fully packed every day of every month. The second their WeChat bookings open, slots disappear within minutes. In Shanghai’s hyper-competitive dining scene, Chef Tom Ryu has become a name synonymous with innovation, storytelling, and redefining Korean cuisine. From his sleek tattooed forearm to his hyper-regional menus, every detail at Nabi is carefully curated to surprise and delight. Now, for one night only, Malaysians can experience the magic of Nabi—right here in KL.
At Nadodi, where Malaysian–Sri Lankan flavours already push the boundaries of fine dining, this collaboration promises a one-of-a-kind cultural and culinary exchange. As part of this one-night-only collab menu, here are just two of the standout dishes you can expect:
- Durian Belanda – Scallops grilled over charcoal, glazed with a bold Maasi CO sauce (Sri Lankan smoked tuna), and served with a soursop-infused coconut curry known as sothi. It is smoky, tangy, and deeply aromatic.
- Nabi x Nadodi Biryani – A daring mash-up of Nadodi’s Seeraga Samba country chicken biryani and Nabi’s Korean elements like kkakdugi, soy egg, and kimchi. Brought together by a light, cashew-based salna, this dish is a bold marriage of acid and depth—biryani like you have never tasted before, all elevated with artistic flair.
It is a cross-cultural collision like no other. And with only two seatings available (6–8pm and 8.30–10.30pm), you will want to move fast. This one-night-only takeover is almost sold out.

Beta x August: Two Southeast Asian Icons, One Celebration of Heritage
August began as a quiet experiment during the pandemic—and quickly became one of Jakarta’s most sought-after fine dining spots. Today, Chef Hans Christian’s flagship is rewriting the rulebook on what Indonesian cuisine can be, with dishes that are layered in spice, sweetness, and soul.
Joining him for this special two-night takeover is none other than Chef Raymond Tham of Beta—a visionary known for bringing Malaysian cuisine into the fine-dining spotlight. With Beta winning praise across Asia and setting new benchmarks for local flavours, this is the collaboration we have all been waiting for.
Here is your exclusive preview of the Beta x August collab menu, created just for the Tatler Best Takeover Series:
- Ubi Kemili with Kulim, Cured Duck & Manchego – Tender Kelantan potatoes meet house-cured duck prosciutto and shaved Manchego. The secret? A drizzle of Kulim oil, which brings a bold, garlicky perfume (think truffle’s wilder cousin). Malaysian terroir meets modern European elegance in this warm, flavour-packed opener.
- Kuih Loyang ‘Kolak’ – A playful twist on a Beta signature, inspired by Indonesia’s beloved Kolak dessert. Delicate, crisp kuih shells cradle creamy, spiced banana and palm sugar filling. It is nostalgic, unexpected and utterly delightful—a dish that bridges memory and reinvention.
Held at Skillet, Beta’s sister restaurant, this four-hands dinner runs across two nights—June 28 and 29, with three seatings each evening (6–7pm, 7–8pm, 8–9pm). Expect two chefs at the top of their game, blending heritage with artistry in every bite.
This is not just a dinner—it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience where two of Southeast Asia’s culinary storytellers bring their roots to the table. Tickets are flying fast—book now before they are gone.

Reka:Bar x The Public House: Two Titans, One Night of Sensory Magic
On June 28 from 8pm–11pm, Reka:Bar—KL’s most boundary-pushing cocktail lab—hosts Taipei’s legendary William Wu, founder of The Public House. Known for his theatrical flair and poetic blends (think osmanthus, fermented apple, lapsang tea, kombucha), Wu has taken Taipei by storm, and his bar became an instant hit.
Joining him is Joel Poon of Reka:Bar, whose futuristic cocktails earned the bar a spot on Tatler’s Best 20 Bars in Malaysia and a Best-in-Class win for design in 2025. These are two of Asia’s most creative mixologists—and their combined energy? Absolutely electric.
Let us give you a taste of the special cocktails they are serving for the Tatler Best Takeover Series:
- The Public #1 – A delicate and floral combination of gin, paochong tea, osmanthus syrup and chardonnay. This signature drink is pure elegance, layered with subtle sweetness and botanical charm. A quiet icon in Taipei’s cocktail world.
- Autumn Mosaic – Wu’s playful side shines here: rum, ginger lily, fermented apple soda and tea come together in a tart, earthy, effervescent mix. It is light, layered and seriously addictive.
- Plum & Rose – A layered, romantic mix of scotch whisky, plum wine, rose kombucha and galangal. Delicate but bold, it is a drink that lingers on the palate and in memory.
- Moky Mary – A smoky twist on the classic: gin, lapsang souchong tea, fermented tomato, aged sherry and passion fruit. Savoury, spicy, and just the right amount of strange—in the best way possible.

The Silver Monkey x The Public House: Sip Beneath the Stars
Close out the weekend on a high note—literally—on June 29, at The Silver Monkey in Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur on the Park, Tatler’s Best New Hotel of 2025. With skyline views and the KL canopy all around, Siti Norsuria and William Wu come together for a sunset session of inventive, cross-cultural pours.
Here is your sneak peek of the collab drinks menu, exclusive to this one-night-only experience:
- Teh Ratu – Persian saffron meets Chinese kombucha in this quietly powerful cocktail that begins with a kiss of tart apple, then unfolds into florals and bittersweet warmth. Sip slowly—this is elegance in liquid form.
