On March 9, 2026, we unveiled the 20 Best Restaurants, 20 Best Bars, 10 Best Hotels, and 24 Best-In-Class award winners at EQ, Kuala Lumpur for our Tatler Best awards
Tatler Best seeks to serve as a valuable resource for the sophisticated traveller, providing discerning gourmands a comprehensive view of luxury hospitality as a whole. Last year, we launched Tatler Best Malaysia, an extension of the previous year’s Top 20 Restaurants, welcoming bars and hotels to our local awards.
This year, other than the pre-existing Best 20 Restaurants and Bars, we introduced our Best 10 Hotel awards. Awards were given on March 9, 2026, which also included a range of focused awards, the Best-In-Class awards.
EQ’s Diamond Ballroom

Tatler Best of Malaysia 2026 was held at EQ's diamond ballroom which housed nearly 300 guests from all aspects of the hospitality industry. Bartenders, chefs, restaurateurs, industry professionals, and hoteliers came together for one night only to celebrate Malaysia’s hospitality scene, many of whom travelled long distances from across the country.

Great Wall Motors, our official car sponsor, chauffeured some of our industry for the evening, including Beta’s Raymond Tham, Hide’s Shaun Ng and his lovely wife Gigi Leow, Restaurant au Jardin’s Su Kim Hock, and Gen 根’s Johnson Wong. Safdar Khan, Division President of South East Asia, Mastercard took to the stage to say a few words before the evening kicked off.
Dutch Eel

Drinks were flowing throughout the night, from craft cocktails and whiskey from Dewars to local Malaysian craft beer, PaperKite. A three-course menu was served courtesy of EQ before the awards were announced, featuring delectable dishes like Dutch Eel and Short Ribs.
Best 20 Bars

Gerrie Beh, Tatler’s managing director and Katelyn Tan, dining editor, took to the stage to hand out a grand total of 74 awards throughout the night. The full list of awards can be found on our website and Tatler Dining Malaysia’s social media, and were given to 20 restaurants, 20 bars, 10 hotels, and 24 Best-In-Class winners.
