Robert Ooi Hong Seang helmed the beloved Thai eateries Erawan and La Moon
It is with sadness we share La Moon’s Robert Ooi Hong Seang has passed away at the age of 65. Known to friends and family as Anann, Ooi was the gracious and attentive front-of-house and host of La Moon in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. The restaurant was recently celebrated as one of Tatler Dining’s Top 20 Restaurants in 2023, loved for its hearty and authentic family-style dishes.
Before opening La Moon with Trakool ‘Korn’ Todsuk, the duo founded the award-winning Thai restaurant Erawan in 2008. The restaurant originally opened in Kota Damansara, Selangor, but is now situated in Damansara City Mall.
