If Only
Located in the heart of the city, If Only boasts Japanese-inspired brunch plates in a relaxing setting reminiscent of a Balinese resort. Pet-friendly and spacious, the airy dining room is open from the early hours of the morning. A personal favourite is the chilli egg scramble, while my mum favours the oden, made with somen noodles and finished with ramen eggs.
Ignis KL
Once a month, Ignis KL hosts a bottomless BBQ, and for the month of May, it falls on the Mother’s Day weekend. Keeping true to its roots in flame grilling are its brunch offerings which include beef brisket, prawn tartare with brioche, and the coffee-cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting.
Locus
While LI Restaurant and Provisions’ sister restaurant Locus is known for its tasting menu, it also serves a delightful Sunday lunch from midday. From sourdough with honey butter and mushroom risotto to charred cauliflower, a meal here is decadent and satisfying.
Entier
For just one day, Entier will be hosting a special Mother’s Day lunch, complete with a complimentary watercolour portrait. The set menu is filled with contemporary French delights, from a smoked salmon croque monsieur and Wagyu beef paired with foie gras to sweet endings in the form of poached peach with honey ice cream.

Superfine
For brunch with a Middle Eastern twist, visit Superfine. Try the Turkish eggs, avocado toast with confit garlic hummus, or the Cuban sandwich inspired by the movie Chef! Also on the menu are Neapolitan pizzas, one of which is topped with an array of breakfast items from pork sausage and tomatoes to poached eggs.
VCR
VCR, one of KL’s longest standing cafés, has been operating since 2013 for over a decade. Now, with six outlets across the Klang Valley, including a bakehouse and sandwich shop, its expertly-made sourdough and brunch plates can be enjoyed by many. A personal favourite is still the avocado toast with pomegranate seeds and a crispy fried egg.
