These three new restaurants are set to elevate the food and beverage offerings in Raffles City by the end of 2024
Raffles City is about to heat up with a mouthwatering makeover to satiate The Lion City’s hunger pangs. With Casa Vostra, a popular gourmet Italian pizza delivery service, planting roots in the refreshed mall, the group behind charming Aussie-inspired grocer Surrey Hills looks to do the same. This bold leap from supplying Singapore with artisanal commodity products from down under to realising three full-blown culinary concepts shows that the fast-growing lifestyle group isn’t mucking about. And it is all happening this July, here’s all you need to know.

1. Bon Broth

First up, Bon Broth, the brainchild of none other than culinary wunderkind Andre Chiang. Yes, that Andre Chiang of now-defunct two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Andre in Singapore. He’s back, and he has tinkered up a fusion of French bone broth and Chinese double-boiled soup that promises a ton of comfort with every sip. “Bon Broth is a new take on our Asian dining culture and a new balanced and healthy lifestyle,” shares Chiang, speaking on Singapore being the first in the world to debut this very concept. Doors are slated to open only in the later part of 2024. But if anything, Chiang’s homecoming is certainly worth the wait.
2. Mensho Tokyo
The wait is much shorter for the next two concepts as they will open soon by the end of July. Ramen aficionados, listen closely as the former is Mensho Tokyo. This award-winning ramen joint is founded by revered ramen master Tomoharu Shono, who opened his ramen joint in Tokyo when he was only 25 years young.
Today, he and his ramen brand enjoy a global presence, with Singapore being the 18th outlet. Not only will they showcase their signature pork bone broth ramen but this new venture will also see Japanese-inspired desserts being served for the first time ever. Doors open July 20.

3. Movida Original
The latter, however, is Movida Original, who swaps Melbourne’s graffitied laneways for Singapore’s squeaky-clean streets. First founded by Frank Camorray, it became Melbourne’s best‑known hatted Spanish restaurant and is said to have pioneered the city’s love for modern Spanish tapas. The Singapore outpost is helmed by chef Adrian Clemmens, a founding member as well as a Spanish sensation, and promises tapas so authentic, that it teleports one’s tastebuds to Barcelona. There will also be a list of award-winning wines to satisfy the geeks and oenophiles. Doors open July 27.
Pang Gek Teng, chief executive officer of Surrey Hills Holdings, shares her excitement about her new venture: “At Surrey Hills Holdings, we are constantly on the lookout to work with like-minded partners to introduce their world-class cuisines to Singapore. Bon Broth, Mensho Tokyo and Movida Original are founded by extremely talented and accoladed chefs who are committed to bringing out the most amazing flavours from the simplest ingredients. Their food is thoughtful, thought-provoking and most importantly, delicious.”
