The special menu is a nod to the country’s rich culture and heritage

First launched in 2020, the Malaysiaku dining experience is now a signature tradition at The St Regis Kuala Lumpur. Each year, the hotel’s talented team of chefs present a new spin on the concept in celebration of Merdeka, Malaysia’s independence day.

Norazizi Taslim, the executive sous chef, draws from his roots when curating innovative menus. For instance, the inaugural Malaysiaku took inspiration from Malay proverbs, while the 2021 iteration drew influence from the rituals and traditions that surround Malay weddings.
