Make Easter Sunday 2024 one to remember at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, The St Regis Kuala Lumpur, or Enoteca Vino & Cucina
When I think of Easter, I think of meals eaten at home—fried bitter gourd salad made palatable with a squeeze of lime juice, mutton curry (marrow bones and all) spooned over biryani or plain basmati rice depending on how much time my grandmother had that day. Ask me again to think of Easter, and I’ll tell you that a spread of sentimental dishes, while exceptionally delicious, are just vessels to bring families together after Lent.
Easter Sunday marks the end of a 40-day period of ‘fasting’ or foregoing material pleasures. Typically celebrated with a lavish lunch, the day usually begins and ends surrounded by loved ones. While many families observe the holiday at home after morning mass, a midday meal at a restaurant is not uncommon. If you’d like to stray slightly from tradition or take a break from cooking this year, we’ve put together a list of dining venues you can visit with your family or loved ones this Easter.
