The 102-year-old patisserie which has garnered a loyal following—including the Dutch Royal family—will be serving its signature sweet and savoury offerings alongside champagnes and cocktails
From the fabled canal cities of Amsterdam and Haarlem, renowned Dutch patisserie and chocolatier Huize van Wely arrives at Raffles Hotel Singapore this October.
Founded in 1922 in Noordwijk, a quiet beachside town in South Holland, the iconic brand, which has a fan following that includes the Dutch Royal family, first expanded its international presence by opening a store at The Papilion mall in Jakarta in 1997. The outlet here will be its second in Asia.
European summer may be over, but sipping flutes of champagne under café awnings is evergreen on this sunny island. Besides its artisanal pastries and ice creams, the patisserie will serve fine wines, champagne, and cocktails. Other sweet and savoury offerings to get your fingers sticky include chocolate truffles and biscuits.

Located on the ground floor of the hotel along Seah Street, diners are in for a treat. With a concept store, a marbled tea room and a rustic lounge bar, the patisserie will offer high tea sets which include cocktails with handcrafted desserts that will transport sweet tooth devotees back to antique tea houses of the past.
For the ones who take delight in boozy confectionery, the centenary patisserie presents a champagne cake. This pastry is layered with white chocolate, Moët & Chandon champagne cream ganache and airy almond sponge, covered in marzipan and a dark chocolate shell.
With gourmet chocolates fit for aristocrats, diners can get their hands on the bouchées—creamy chocolate bonbons layered with ganache, gianduja, and marzipan dipped in chocolate.
The exact opening date is yet to be released.
