Los Angeles’ Camphor is set to take over Wolfgang’s Steakhouse for an exclusive two-night dining experience
Recognised as one of America’s most celebrated restaurants, Camphor, owned and operated by No. 8 Hospitality founders Sarah Lam and Cyrus Batchan, is set to grace Malaysia with its presence in a two-day takeover at Wolfgang's Steakhouse, Resorts World Genting as part of its Michelin Magic Series. Mark your calendars for September 13 and 14, as this Michelin-starred sensation will bring its globally-inspired cuisine to the heights of Genting Highlands.
Set against the backdrop of the timeless sophistication and New York City charm of Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, this collaboration promises diners a chance to experience a taste of Los Angeles’ cutting-edge culinary scene at the hands of Camphor’s executive chef Max Boonthanakit.

Since its 2022 debut, Camphor has carved out a well-deserved space for itself in LA’s dining scene. Its innovative use of modern French bistro cuisine as its backbone peppered with internationally influenced flavours secured it a coveted Michelin star. Camphor is no stranger to the pop-up space, having worked with venerated names from Coachella to Redtail in Resorts World Las Vegas.
At the helm of Camphor’s culinary success is executive chef Max Boonthanakit, whose experience at acclaimed restaurants around the world including Blue by Alain Ducasse in Bangkok, has been instrumental in shaping the restaurant’s identity. Boonthanakit has established Camphor as one of LA’s most in-demand restaurants by reinventing French techniques through finding inspiration in global cuisines.

The restaurant’s global influences and refreshingly refined plates will make its way to Malaysia in a thoughtfully curated five course dinner menu. Diners can expect a five course dinner paired with wine of an amuse bouche of a tuna, olive, and mustard tart and a first course of kanpachi with uni, spicy cream, and green apple ice. The meal will continue with a scallop demi lune, a main course of chicken en garcie with cabbage and turnips, and a sweet course of strawberries and citrus milk before culminating in a caramelised bread and smoked chocolate finale.

The 30th global outpost of the New York institution, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, will serve as as the venue for this once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience. Calling Resorts World Genting home, it has established itself as a must-visit when in Genting Highlands for its classically executed steakhouse fare. Adding to its allure is the restaurant’s impressive wine cellar complete with new and old world wines that guests will be able to pair with courses of Camphor’s menu.
