Blockbar’s innovative NFT platform enables Glenfiddich to digitise and sell exclusive spirit products as NFTs, directly to imbibers

Single malt Scotch whisky Glenfiddich has partnered with BlockBar, the premier non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace for luxury wine and spirit products, to release a series of 15 limited edition liquor NFTs today (October 19).

Continuing to push boundaries in whisky innovation, Glenfiddich will be the first luxury spirit brand to be available on BlockBar to do so.

Each NFT will correspond to a physical bottle of a 1973 single malt scotch whiskey sold by Glenfiddich. Spending more than two decades in an Armagnac cask, the exclusive 46-year old malt features a lusciously fruity nose with robust oak notes overlaid with elegant vanilla sweetness, and a long sweet oak finish.

This exclusive token can be purchased exclusively through BlockBar’s innovative NFT platform. Upon purchasing, buyers will become owners of the physical product, represented, and verified by the token. After purchase, buyers can choose to hold the token for a resale, or cash in the token to receive the physical bottle itself.

Chief Operating Officer of William Grant & Sons, Doug Bagley, believes that BlockBar will bring a heightened level of authenticity to the brand, creating an “elite club of distinguished collectors”.
