This malt showcases the incredible six-decade career of the master distiller on the world’s stage

This year, Glen Grant celebrates its long, rich history, and the expertise of master distiller Dennis Malcolm with the launch of The Glen Grant Dennis Malcolm 60th Anniversary Edition single malt scotch whisky.

The launch event, held in Shanghai, culminated with a live auction of the bottle, Bottle No. 88, which was sold for a high price of 380,000 RMB (approximately SG$80,000), a testament to the prestige of The Glen Grant brand.

Reflecting on the diamond anniversary, Malcolm remarks, “It’s never been a job to me, it’s been a way of life.”

An extremely rare and luxurious liquid, this spirit has been aged for 60 years. With a deep chestnut colour, the aroma starts with notes of vibrant Seville orange, then giving way to an unravelling of rich fruits and nuts including peaches, apricot, pecan nuts and a hint of cigar smoke. Taste wise, it is rich and fruity, with a beautiful balance of dark chocolate layered with treacle toffee. This malt finishes with long, lingering flavours of figs, dates and liquorice.

Limited to 360 bottles worldwide, each decanter has been made from hand-blown crystal glass, inspired by the design of the distillery’s unique tall slender pot stills. The bottle is enclosed in a lavish presentation case, with the master distiller’s signature engraved within it and a Certificate of Authenticity, signed personally by Dennis Malcolm.
