Find out where to get your fix of falafel balls, bowls, wraps, and more

If you are anything like me, then you love falafels too. These flavour-packed bites are made from chickpeas (also known as garbanzo beans) and can sometimes use fava beans and, occasionally, both. The beans are mashed and then tossed with a variety of herbs, more commonly parsley, cilantro and dill. Depending on the establishment or home that is cooking the falafels, they may also add a dash of spice such as cayenne, cumin, or coriander and may even toss in some chopped onions or garlic too.

These crispy, tasty treats are famous in the Middle East in areas like Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and Israel. They make for excellent pita fillings or rice toppings. You can even enjoy them alone with some tangy Tahini sauce. Falafel patties can range in size or shape, but more often than not, they are spherical and around the size of a golf ball. This Middle Eastern staple is a popular street food that has won over the hearts and stomachs of many, finding itself served at many a restaurant too.
