Baan Phadthai is a multiple award-winning import from Bangkok and has been earning Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition annually since 2018. Its new home in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is in a strategic location, the easier for you to fix that craving for a good plate of phad thai.

It features seven versions of phad thai, including Phadthai Jumbo Mud Crab and Phadthai Jumbo Goong Mae Nam (grilled river prawn), all cooked with its signature sauce. While the noodles are a must-have, there are other classic Thai dishes to enjoy, for instance Laab Nuea Tawt (hot and sour marinated beef meatballs) and Tub Tim Krob (ruby water chestnut dessert).

VCR continues to grow, this time birthing VCR Ricthie in Ampang. Apart from the usual coffee and cafe-style nosh like Wagyu cheeseburger and pesto, this outlet also serves curry laksa, a first for VCR. The interior, as expected, is modern and sleek with a slightly more upscale vibe.

Pixie's is a private kitchen that only discloses its location when reservations are made and confirmed via Instagram DMs. All we know is that it's located along Jalan Tun H.S. Lee. The brainchild of Chef Joeri Timmermans of the pop-up series Deadset Arvo, its menu is curated around seasonal local ingredients. You can expect to pair your meal here with natural wines and sparkling sakes.

Hide KL is chef/owner Ng Yi Shaun's playground where he creates seafood-centric menus that consistently impress. We expect the new summer menu to be a hit too, with dishes like kinmedai (golden eye snapper) and hotaru ika (firefly squid) served with a sauce meunière, as well as caviar served with Wagyu beef and kanpachi (yellowtail).

Afloat Coffee Roaster is the latest cafe to open in Bukit Jalil. The founders are husband and wife Jimmy and Leng Leng and they strive to serve only the best coffee from high quality green coffee beans that are optimised for consumption at different times of the year. The calming interior is a veritable invitation to relax over a cuppa—and perhaps a smoked duck bagel or a pudding topped with Earl Grey gelato.

One of Tatler Dining's Top 20 Restaurants in Malaysia in 2021, Akâr Dining's summer menu champions indigenous ingredients, in line with its ethos of paying homage to local bounties with its modern interpretations. The lamb, for example, features a mole made with Sarawak Liberica coffee, while the claypot rice with aged duck is complemented with a bright and punchy fruit sambal.

Shaping up to be an exciting addition to the culinary landscape in the city, Artisan's Playground by COOKHOUSE is where you'll find dishes by different well-known chefs under one roof. They include Chef Raymond Tham of Beta KL and Skillet KL, pastry chefs Otto Tay and Loi Ming Ai, as well as Chef Fhaizal of the Red Beanbag. There's quite a spread here—think lobster roll, creamy chilli clams, wagyu burger and lily pandan—so it's advisable to free up a good part of the day if you're planning to visit.
