It will be the chef’s second restaurant at Marina Bay Sands, joining his two-starred Waku Ghin at the integrated resort

Tetsuya Wakuda has made an extraordinary mark in the culinary industry with his unique style of cuisine and uncanny ability to marry diverse cultures. His trademark French technique, coupled with the Japanese philosophy of using only the highest quality and seasonal ingredients, has won his restaurants top accolades including The World’s 50 Best Restaurant distinction, not to mention two Michelin stars.

Riding on the coattails of his success, internationally acclaimed 50 Eggs Hospitality Group has partnered with the renowned chef to introduce a game-changing new brainchild. The company itself is known for its cutting-edge concepts and innovative approach to design—no doubt resulting in a revolutionary joint venture with chef Tetsuya that foregrounds the intricate beauty of Japan.

Wakuda is a brilliant collision of time and culture, and its food and design are symbolic of the tension between traditional and modern Japan. In a world where culinary wonders are becoming increasingly commonplace, Wakuda asserts its own bold, original interpretation on the meaning of food. In the eyes of chef Tetsuya, cuisine is yet another medium for art and storytelling. Each and every morsel contains the history of Japan and its struggles to get to where it is today.

The restaurant's debut at Marina Bay Sands will be followed by a Spring 2022 opening at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Tetsuya proudly states: “The Wakuda brand represents an evolution from my restaurants to date, with a vibrant design and atmosphere that will be an exciting new backdrop for my cuisine.” With the promise of time-honoured ingredients and top-notch craftsmanship, Wakuda embodies the true spirit of contemporary Japan, and honours the memory of its past.
