This joint effort between TiffinLabs and Barilla teaches local healthcare workers the secret to authentic Italian cuisine

Despite being pushed to the limits in the battle against Covid-19, the efforts of Singapore's healthcare workers have not gone unnoticed. Singapore's newest digital Italian restaurant chain, Pasta Table, has launched its inaugural digital culinary masterclass specially catered to 250 front liners from Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and National University Hospital (NUH), as a show of appreciation to our nation's unsung heroes.

Helmed by Barilla's very own executive chef, Andrea Tranchero, and TiffinLabs' head of menu development, Terence Chuah, “Cook from Home: Italian Masterclass with the Chefs” is the first in a series designed to give back to those who have brunt the impact of of the '20 and '21 pandemic.

Undeterred by the recent stay-home measures, the class invited participants and their family members to sign in via Zoom and try their hand at recreating some of Pasta Table’s most popular dishes under the tutelage of Tranchero and Chuah. The event was also co-hosted by Aiken Chia, host and creator of local production company, Night Owl Cinematics.

Driven by the spirit of love and appreciation, Pasta Table's masterclass not only provided participants a chance to treat themselves to delectable, Michelin-standard cuisine, but also allowed them to take a breather from their hectic routine and spend quality time with their family members.

"The 60 minutes masterclass allowed our staff to break away from their busy routine to devote some time to exercise self-care, bond with their loved ones and stay connected with fellow colleagues," says Dominic Tung, assistant director of Human Resource Wellness at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Each individual healthcare worker was gifted their own care package, consisting of whimsical DIY pasta kits, Barilla’s mouthwatering pasta sauces, recipe cards and perks for future purchases.

Phuminant Tantiprasongchai, the co-founder of TiffinLabs, has expressed the company's passion for community service and desire to raise spirits in lieu of the renewed Covid-19 cluster outbreaks. He humbly states, "It is our mission to give back to our community, especially those serving in the frontline," and adds, "the initiative was a boost to the morale of healthcare workers and their loved ones during this difficult period.”

Pasta Table, Barilla Singapore and TiffinLabs plan to roll out more initiatives in the coming months as a continued show of support for our frontline heroes during these trying times.
