The long-awaited Italian staple, which comes in classic and novel flavours, is now available on the lunch menu

Since Osteria Mozza’s reopening in June at the Hilton Singapore Orchard, many gourmands couldn’t wait for the return of its famed artisanal wood-fired pizzas which would only be available for lunch.

The long wait is finally over as the culinary team, led by executive chef Peter Birks, has expanded the lunch menu with 10 pizza flavours. Celebrity chef and owner Nancy Silverton says that their “pizzas have evolved further since then, and we are thrilled to bring what we think are the best pizzas we have ever made” that would take your tastebuds on a trip to Los Angeles.

It all starts with the dough, crafted with an “improved recipe” that results in a light and airy crust that tastes almost like sourdough. The team has kept the classic flavours we’ve all grown to love, of course, but to spice things up, there are also new and innovative flavours to try. Here are five pizzas to try.

Margherita

Nancy Silverton’s version of classic pizza, which originated in Naples, Italy, comes with a thin and crunchy crust coated in fresh tomato sauce, basil and mozzarella di bufala. Simple yet rich in flavour—just how we like it.

Burrata

Nothing beat a classic combination of slow-roasted tomatoes, Sicilian oregano and, of course, utterly tender burrata cheese that you can slather on your slice. Take a bite and revel in the amalgamation of flavours—sweet, rich and creamy, enlivened by the oregano’s fresh peppery notes.

Fennel Sausage

One of our newest favourites is the fennel sausage, its namesake ingredients artfully arranged atop for a delicious mix of salty, herbaceous and creamy flavours. Eat it while it’s hot.

Meatballs

Who can resist meatballs? Well, they are even better when these are used as pizza toppings alongside mozzarella di bufala, roasted tomatoes and oregano. A generous sprinkle of chilli flakes injects some welcome heat to this savoury dish.

BLT

The classic sandwich has been transformed into a pizza, and we like how it packs a punch with toppings of bacon, guanciale and tomatoes. It’s definitely rich and salty, but the saltiness is offset by the earthiness of the arugula leaves and the richness of the onion cream and aioli.
