In a café-centric city like Hong Kong, you won’t have any trouble finding a place for a quick caffeine fix or brunch—but if you're a little tired of your usual joints, we’ve curated a roundup of the best, newest cafes to check out this month.

Whether you’re in search of new work-from-home spots to switch up your mood in the new year, or simply want to catch up with friends over a good cup of joe, these coffee shops and brunch spots with quality brews and delectable food will see you right.

1. Liffee

Start the year healthy and happy with a relaxing café experience at Liffee—a newly-opened keto-friendly café in Wan Chai. Decked with minimalist white décor that oozes elegance and cosy vibes, the place features a tranquil setting that takes you away from the hustle and bustle as you refuel and enjoy their healthy dishes and drinks. Must orders include keto lasagna, low carb risotto, sourdough toast, "fake" coffee and egg latte.

If you’re craving something sweet, be sure to try their homemade blueberry keto muffin and keto pound cake.

2. Suit Coffee Sake

Known for its personalised coffee and sake experiences, Suit Coffee Sake has recently opened a new branch in Sheung Wan, welcoming guests to indulge in an afternoon of quality drinks and brunch dishes. Brimming with unique interiors that draw inspiration from a tailor shop, the new branch is offering a bigger space and a more extensive menu, making it perfect for a long afternoon stay with friends.

Choose between the classic latte, flat white, cappuccino, or go for a cold brew. Make sure you also order hearty mains such as pork rack pesto, uni pasta or egg sando for a truly indulgent meal. We hear that they are going to roll out free-flow sake and coffee pairing lunch menus in the near future!

3. APT. Coffee

Fancy a bespoke café experience? Head to APT. Coffee’s new branch in Sai Ying Pun. An acronym for “A Personal Tailor”, the brand is one of the city’s most popular coffee joints that has a reputation for tailoring orders of all kinds of brews to suit every taste.

Using Australian-roasted coffee beans by Seven Seeds, guests can choose between nutty and fruity flavours, milk volume and milk foam volume to customise their drinks. That’s not all, as the café also features a food menu of toasts and pasta dishes where you can choose your favourite toppings to create a dish that's both personal and delicious.

4. Triple C

Triple C has everything you look for in a great café: photogenic interiors, premium coffee blends and scrumptious bites that guarantees a memorable dining experience. Spanning two floors, this place is a perfect mish-mash of restaurant, coffee shop and bar, with an extensive selection of Japanese fusion delicacies on offer. Our picks? The fried prawns set meal and truffle mushroom risotto are must-tries.

For drinks, you can go classic with a flat white or mocha, or opt for their house specials including the sake kasu latte or the purple sweet potato latte. A selection of hand-drip coffees is available as well.

5. Rim Coffee

A beautiful cup of coffee with beautiful interiors to match—a day out with loved ones at Rim Coffee is guaranteed to be an enjoyable one. With its floor-to-ceiling windows, wood décor and welcoming ambience, this airy space isn’t just an Instagrammer’s dream, but also an outstanding bistro that offers solid drinks and food for all afternoon cravings.

Here, guests can enjoy a good selection of classic coffees such as latte, flat white and espresso, as well as caffeine-free drinks including osmanthus oolong tea and chocolate. Food-wise, the salad bowls, all-day breakfast, and the satisfying pasta dishes are unmissable.

6. Bold Coffee

Three things make up this new gem in Sham Shui Po: skillful baristas, delicious beverages and a design inspired by the neighbourhood’s lively fabric markets. At Bold Coffee, guests will be treated to an extensive menu of expertly crafted beverages featuring everything from espresso to flat white, cappuccino and latte. The café is still in this soft opening phase but the food and dessert menus will be available soon, so stay tuned!

7. Another Shot

The team behind Nsquare Coffee Bar is back, continuing their passion for serving up great coffee with a new establishment—Another Shot. Located within an assuming commercial building in Kowloon Bay, this cafe boasts a variety of quality brews made with beans sourced from some of the world’s finest producers.

The menu regularly rotates to delight coffee lovers with distinctive flavours; from hand-dripped coffee to fruity and nutty house blends, there’s bound to be something you’ll love.

8. From Seed To Wish

Up your café-hopping game and get some envy-inducing shots at this new hidden oasis in Kowloon Bay. Stepping inside From Seed To Wish, guests are met with an elegant, soothing colour palette of white with lush greenery. But aside from giving us all the backdrops we could wish for our latest ‘gram, the café is also serious about food and offers a Western-style menu packed with tempting brunch plates and teatime desserts.

Try the wild mushroom fettuccine with truffle cream sauce, or the salted egg yolk French dishes—their filling carb dishes are a winner—along with a satisfying sip of a well-brewed cuppa crafted by their expert baristas. Aside from all the coffee staples, their drinks menu also features refreshing lemongrass iced tea and flower fruit tea, as well as unique house specials including pandan lemonade and coconut chocolate milkshake.

9. Hygge

Derived from a Norwegian word for that indescribable cosy mood, Hygge is designed for relaxing afternoon escapes from the city, with scrumptious Italian-inspired food on offer. Favourites include homemade seared marlin with mentaiko sauce pizza, wagyu beef lasagna, and ratatouille, accompanied by a delicious array of galettes and sweet French crepes.

Of course, it goes without saying that the drinks here are stellar, too, where guests can look forward to aromatic coffee blends, smoothies and milkshakes in unique flavours such as Hong Kong-style milk tea and bacon peanut butter.

10. The Porter

Following up on the success of its pop-up in November, lifestyle coffee brand The Porter has finally opened its doors to the public in Quarry Bay, serving up deliciously brewed cuppas that will quell all work grievances and have you feeling satisfied.

The café is spacious and well-designed, making it perfect for a quick afternoon break. Guests are welcome to sample premium coffees brewed from carefully sourced beans from around the world, as well as a delectable selection of light baked treats and pastries, such as carrot cake, lemon poppy seed pound cake and red velvet cake.

11. Urban Coffee Roaster

Any bona fide café-hopping enthusiast should be no stranger to Urban Coffee Roaster. Known for its consistently high-quality food and drink offerings, the coffee joint has recently opened its fourth branch in Kwun Tong. With stylish interiors complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, the new space is airy and inviting—perfect for a little afternoon pick-me-up or weekend indulgence with friends and family.

Their popular plates include crab meat donburi with deep-fried soft-shell crab, creamy cauliflower rice scallop and uni, and black cod saikyo yaki; don't miss the desserts such as lemon meringue tart and caramel lava mousse cake. For drinks, they have a well-curated menu of coffees that features everything from classic options to special coffee blends made with premium beans.
