The month, discover a host of new cafés, delis and gelato parlours that have popped up around the island

There is no such thing as having nothing new to eat in Singapore, thanks to the island’s vibrant F&B scene. Even with the ongoing pandemic, we constantly see new dining establishments popping up each month. 

So, why not try something new this month and explore some of the latest dining additions? Whether you are looking for a plant-based eatery, or a gelato parlour to cool off from the blazing sun, this month's offerings are sure to satisfy any palate. Here are five places to get you started.

1. Love Handle

Savour plant-based burgers and hearty mains at Love Handle, a plant-based butchery-cum-deli that focuses on plant-based meats and dairy products. Head to the deli to find delectable meat-free dishes made with vegan ingredients from its meatless butchery.
 
Highlights include the Impossibro Wellington, featuring layers of spiced Impossible meat and mushrooms in a blanket of flaky puff pastry; Chick’n & Waffle, comprising Southern fried Tindle chicken on a bed of soft and fluffy waffles; and pulled rendang burger. The local-inspired treat is a homage to our local dining scene and is made with Green Rebel Foods’ beefless rendang topped with juicy pickles and encased within soft buns.

2. Working Title Riverside

Working Title has opened a new outlet along the Riverside. On top of its classic burgers, diners can look forward to new palatable bites, among which are the tender lamb chops served with chimichurri and pearl couscous; juicy tiger prawns with sous vide egg and mushrooms on a bed of pasta; and mushroom ragu and goat cheese mascarpone atop sourdough.
 
Diners can also look forward to exclusive burgers at the Riverside outlet. This includes Rooster Board, made up of chargrilled chicken, tangy sauerkraut and sunny side up.

3. GelatiAmo

Head to this new gelato parlour for a scoop of authentic gelato. On top of classic flavours, you have unique creations that change on the regular—so, expect the likes of mascarpone aged balsamic, burnt butter with pecans and grapefruit prosecco sorbet to appear on the menu.
 
Prefer the classics? Opt for the pistachio scoop, a rich and creamy gelato infused with the nutty aroma and taste of the pistachio. Indulge even more when you order it atop the freshly baked cinnamon sugar donut, with crisp exterior and fluffy centre.

4. Coexist Coffee Co.

Easties rejoice, as Coexist Coffee Co. has opened its new outlet in Paya Lebar. It is the café’s largest space to date and includes a micro roastery and café. Savour hearty dishes including steak frites, ebiko linguini and smashed avocado toast. Its chicken lemak pizza is a must try: available only from Fridays to Sundays, this nasi-lemak inspired pizza features a chewy base topped with juicy fried chicken chunks sambal, fried ikan bilis, and roasted peanuts.

5. Ratio Café and Gastrobar

Head to Ratio Café and Gastrobar’s latest outlet for a futuristic café experience. While dishes and cocktails are curated by its culinary team, espresso-based drinks are meticulously prepared by robotic arms. On top of classic hot and iced espresso-based beverages such as lattes and piccolos, prepared by the robotic coffee barista, patrons can also savour signature cocktail offerings like Life’s a Beach Life’s a Beach, a tropical concoction made with tequila, mango puree, coconut water, lime, and ginger flower syrup contained in a coconut husk. Complement the drinks with delectable bites such as the creamy seafood laksa linguine, a dish featuring juicy tiger prawns, mussels, and squid, in a rich laksa-spiced cream sauce.
