Sandos, sake and swag are all accounted for at this temporary pop-up lasting into September

What's a busy Central office worker to do for lunch when the pavements are clogged, food delivery orders are backed up, and restaurant queues go on for days? If you're in Landmark, consider yourself lucky as the Belowground booth that previously housed the #OnigiriForLove pop-up has now reopened as Kiosk by Sake Central.

Open from now until September 20, the counter is inspired by Japan's grab-and-go snack stations and offers on-trend sandos in an ultra-convenient form factor. The flavours were ideated by Sake Central co-founder Elliot Faber and head chef Vincent Ladislao, and include the classic pork katsu sando, the plant-based spicy sando with a locally produced plant-based pork patty of Good Pork, a limited-edition curry croquette sando, and a tamago salad sando. At HK$88 each, they're swathed in between pillowy milk bread and use the finest ingredients sourced from Japan.

On the side, customers can also pick up a Basque umami cheesecake made using leftover sake lees from Sake Central’s own Noto 88 sake, a slice of New York-style umami cheesecake, and a selection of drinks that includes Kimino fruit sodas, sake and shochu from Sake Central and Sunday's Spirits, and canned cocktails from the likes of Fernet Hunter and new Hong Kong startup Drink Wanted. Various combo options deliver small savings when pairing a sando with a drink, a dessert, or both.

And should a sudden August shower render your crispy white shirt unwearable, the Kiosk also sells branded tees from other brands under the Sake Central family, including from new Okinawan bar Awa Awa. Over the course of the pop-up, the Kiosk's merch wall will also drop other exclusive collaborations from time to time, so stay tuned to their Instagram, and take note that cash is not accepted.
