Mad About Mezcal

Having won accolade after accolade over the years, most recently being named Asia's Best Bar, COA is finally making moves with news of a second location in Shanghai. Due to open later in October, the bar will take up a three-storey space in Shanghai's Jing An district, with founder Jay Khan due to travel to the city before its launch to oversee the opening period.

COA isn't entering virgin territory, as several mezcal-forward bars have popped up in Shanghai in recent years, including La Mezcaleria, Espiritu, and Mezcalito–although it will certainly be the most prominent name. Stay tuned for more news in the coming weeks.

To celebrate the release of No Time To Die, the official champagne of the 007 film franchise, Champagne Bollinger, has collaborated with The Peninsula and Aston Martin to produce a limited edition (HK$680) that brings together three icons: Bollinger’s signature Special Cuvée, the Aston Martin DB5 and James Bond himself.

For the month of October, Bond fans can savour the special champagne at the famous afternoon tea in The Lobby (HK$438 per person and HK$778 for two) by adding on a glass of bubbly for HK$220. Meanwhile, The Verandah will also offer a taste of the cuvée alongside a special seafood platter of Boston lobster, Fine de Claire oysters, black mussels, sea whelk and Alaskan crab legs (HK$1,088 for two, plus optional glass of Champagne Bollinger for HK$220). Now that's a deal to die for.
