We round up the food and drink happenings that you should know about this week

The fifth wave seems to have peaked, citywide mandatory testing is off the books (at least, at the time of publication), so we're celebrating the small wins this week. Will you be feasting on wagyu, getting satiated on elevated all-you-can-eat cha chaan teng flavours, or having a pizza fresh out of the oven while basking in the sunny spring weather? As always, the choice is yours—keep reading to find out more.

Any Way You Slice It

The Murray adds to its F&B roster with Cotton Tree Pizzeria, a new concept that brings that unbeatable combination of baked dough, cheese and toppings to the refined arches of the heritage landmark. The venue specialises in Neapolitan pizzas, baked in an Italian oven to achieve a raised and airy cornicione rim. Among the pizzas on offer include the Napolitana with anchovies, Taggiasca olives and oregano; the Mallorca with raw cured and paprika-spiked Sobrasada pork sausage with goat cheese and arugula; the Salsiccia, topped with Italian pork sausage and guanciale, and more. Rounding out a meal are starters like burrata with cherry tomatoes and honey garlic chicken, as well as aperitifs like Negronis, Aperol Spritzes, and limoncello. A winning formula for la dolce vita in our eyes.

Up your surf and turf game with two new weekend brunch menus at French-Japanese steakhouse Bifteck. First up is 'Le Voyage du Wagyu', a beef-focused menu headlined by rarefied cuts like the Kyoto Princess Sirloin, A5 Kobe Wine Wagyu tenderloin tempura, and slow cooked rump of A5 Miyazaki Wagyu—all of which are served in the main course of Wagyu Three Ways; alongside other dishes like USDA SRF Wagyu wrapped beef tartare, and oxtail shabu-shabu udon featuring the exceptionally tender Japanese A5 snow-aged wagyu.

Le Voyage des Fruits de Mer, meanwhile, focuses on the bounty of the sea in dishes such as sashimi and beef tacos, crab meat udon in miso uni broth, a seafood platter of local scallop, New Zealand scampi and Hiroshima oyster tempura. Priced at HK$580 for four courses or HK$680 for five courses per person, both brunch menus are available every weekend with the option to add a two-hour free-flow package of Languedoc Mas de Daumas Gassac Rosé Frizant rosé for just an extra HK$188 per person.

To cater to all your panic-buying needs, Pirata Group is rolling out PirataMart, a scheme whereby selected restaurants under the group's umbrella will be offering takeaway set meals for the at-home workforce to pick up or have delivered at their own convenience, with groceries to be offered in the coming weeks. Available online, each restaurant is contributing a guest favourite to the Pirata Feast at-home menu: Spanish suckling pig and Boston lobster sofrito rice from The Optimist, beef Wellington from Meats, tacu tacu from TokyoLima, Old Delhi butter chicken from Chaiwala, and M.M.M. meatballs from Pirata. Orders can be picked up from Honjo, Meats, or The Optimist.

La Favorita will also be serving its own takeaway menu to service Eastern District, available for pickup from its location in Taikoo. In the coming weeks, these same locations will also offer a selection of groceries to aid shoppers in stocking up their pantries.
